Come Together is an FEA-curated initiative with the view to exposing a younger generation of music lovers to Indian Classical music. So rather than expect them to come to where this music normally lives, we decided to take the music to the places where this new audience typically hangs out.
Café Zoe in Parel, Mumbai is one such place that suited our idea perfectly. The co-owners were enthusiastic and coupled with the fabulous F&B to be found there, we were sold. This would be an experience like no other this city has seen.
The first in this series features the young and very talented Abhishek Borkar on sarod accompanied by the very in-demand Ojas Adhiya on tabla. In this piece, the second of the evening, they are joined by the wonderfully gifted young violinist Nandini Shankar who hails from a family of great violin players spanning both hindustani and carnatic styles.
Without diluting or compromising the purity of the genre, all three musicians complimented each other superbly.
We found the audience to be very receptive and responding very favourably to the music and the artistes.

Bageshri demands the level of feeling and depth that these musicians have delivered here. It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful ragas in my humble opinion.

Nandini Shankar's Grandmother Dr. N. Rajam is the maestro of Indian classical violin whose recital once made a coma patient come out of coma....Listen to her as well....she is a legend.

Superb music with wonderful interaction betwenn the musicians. But the sound balance was not good - the violin was spot on, the tabla lacked the richness of its lower pitches (EQ or faulty mic placing? - possibly the latter) and the level of the sarod was too low. (I used to work with live sound balancing so I am a bit fussy!)
Can i know when is the next performance planned in mumbai? Thanks.. Would love to see these artists live especially Ojas!
Very nice.Sometimes it is better to have more than one instrument to accompany the violinist.More enjoyable.

While there is an appreciation, but one should know that more riyaaz is required. The attraction of public performance is too strong.. amidst these the perfection that is required may get lost
The Tabla sound is too less than the other instru.

Are bhai is level ka knowledge kaise hai aap logon ke pass ki aise top class ke artists ki bhi minute error pakad lete ho? (No, I am not being sarcastic here. I hope your comment is true and Ojas indeed missed some beats). Great rasiks make great artists
