I used to think that too… recently I’ve been watching the old ‘Unsolved Mysteries’…. At the end of most of the murder episodes is the ‘update’ and who was arrested and when…. When I looked online-Almost every case (even death row cases) were overturned when dna was brought into the picture…. Unless there was a confession and lots of evidence and witnesses…. I’m not so sure anymore….. just so sad… her yelling or driving away would have changed everything…

I’ve told my daughter that if she is ever threatened in anyway by a stranger to be quiet and do as they say DO NOT STAY QUIET!! Run, run as fast as you can and start screaming. Never ever willingly go with anyone. If they tell you they’re going to hurt someone you love run anyway. Never go to a second place without a struggle …… Such a tragic story.

My mother gave us the same advice. Always told us to put up a fight screaming as loud as we can because if we do as they say and go quietly they'll only kill us afterwards anyway. But of course no one knows for sure how they'll react in this situation especially if they're caught off guard.

@shaquilleburton1611 Not of this brutality, and not in broad daylight! Woman in the 1950's were normally safe in daylight hours to shop, go to the beauty salon, etc. In their home town without a thought to there being any danger. In the Midwest, these were still the days of leaving your keys in the car 24/7 and never locking your house doors! Even I am old enough to remember this. Yes, I was a child, but I remember it being that way till the late 1970's.

Sometimes they remarry but you'd never know by the headstone. My step-grandfather (who was cruel & abusive) was buried with his first wife who died young. It's like the 30 years he spent with my grandmother (who he abused) never even happened. Unless you KNOW, you really don't know 🤷♀️

Nice presentation,Lamont.Very considerate of you to keep this lady's memory alive.Such a tragedy. So sad that this lady and her loved ones suffered via the hands of a cowardly weasel. The Allen family was dealt a devastating blow when it was known that Wilma's body had been positively identified.I feel that those close to her never recovered from her senseless rape, robbery and murder.

he didn't sit on death row very long. he was executed less than 6 months after sentencing.
Sad - Rip to Wilma. My thoughts and prayers are always with the surviving family and friends. What's this person's mindset? Particularly going after that of a woman, is beyond anything we can imagine today, especially with two children. She must have been so terrified when she had seen his gun pointing at her. She didn't seem to have any instincts for survival, only obeying what he ordered her to do, and everything would be alright. It tears my heart out for those children because of how their mother died, because of him. She didn't deserve that kind of death.
