I used to think that too… recently I’ve been watching the old ‘Unsolved Mysteries’…. At the end of most of the murder episodes is the ‘update’ and who was arrested and when…. When I looked online-Almost every case (even death row cases) were overturned when dna was brought into the picture…. Unless there was a confession and lots of evidence and witnesses…. I’m not so sure anymore….. just so sad… her yelling or driving away would have changed everything…

I’ve told my daughter that if she is ever threatened in anyway by a stranger to be quiet and do as they say DO NOT STAY QUIET!! Run, run as fast as you can and start screaming. Never ever willingly go with anyone. If they tell you they’re going to hurt someone you love run anyway. Never go to a second place without a struggle …… Such a tragic story.

My mother gave us the same advice. Always told us to put up a fight screaming as loud as we can because if we do as they say and go quietly they'll only kill us afterwards anyway. But of course no one knows for sure how they'll react in this situation especially if they're caught off guard.

@shaquilleburton1611 Not of this brutality, and not in broad daylight! Woman in the 1950's were normally safe in daylight hours to shop, go to the beauty salon, etc. In their home town without a thought to there being any danger. In the Midwest, these were still the days of leaving your keys in the car 24/7 and never locking your house doors! Even I am old enough to remember this. Yes, I was a child, but I remember it being that way till the late 1970's.

Hello from Palermo Sicily. Good morning. August 1955. I was 9 years old going on 10, and just another Italian Kid growing up in Little Italy in Washington D.C. And I still remember this case. Rest in peace Wilma and William. And as for This Arthur Brown. Well, he can rest in piss and rot in Hell. God Bless.

According to Bill Allen's 2007 obituary, he remarried in 1960 and stayed married to that lady until he passed away. It sounds like he had a really happy life. He was successful in business and had many friends. I'm sorry what happened to Wilma.

Sad - Rip to Wilma. My thoughts and prayers are always with the surviving family and friends. What's this person's mindset? Particularly going after that of a woman, is beyond anything we can imagine today, especially with two children. She must have been so terrified when she had seen his gun pointing at her. She didn't seem to have any instincts for survival, only obeying what he ordered her to do, and everything would be alright. It tears my heart out for those children because of how their mother died, because of him. She didn't deserve that kind of death.

And according to The Kansas City Times, 15 Nov 1955, it reported from Wilma's husband that Wilma always cautioned their boys about these dangers and for them to scream if any sort of kidnapping attempt happened. It's tragic she didn't do what she taught.
