Abdominal organs (plastic anatomy)

Ғылым және технология

We're going to take apart a plastic anatomy model and see what we can find in the abdomen. We'll identify as many organs as we can, see how they fit into the abdomen relative to one another, working our way from anterior to posterior.

@@Dawna-gp1zk , will you clarify your "teary-eyed?" question? I can easily imagine a few meanings in it-e.g., (1) you're one of the many people who watch Sam Webster's videos who don't have English as their first language, and you're not sure what "teary-eyed" means (2) you find it hard to believe that anyone has strong emotions about Sam Webster's videos (3) you accept the strong emotion, but find an incongruity between a good emotion (happiness, delight, gratitude) and tears (which you associate with pain, sadness) -, but I don't know what you meant.

Is anyone else thinking that this must have been what House was like early in his career when he was still enthusiastic and passionate about medicine?! Outstanding explanations and delivery that leaves the listener not feeling that the information has been dumbed down but whilst still making it entirely accessible...thank you for taking the time to create and upload these lectures. Great job... and a nice review for me.... In military, some odd 50 years ago, I worked as Dr Assistant to 4 orthopedic surgeons, so dealt very little with the abdomen. Though I used to assist the pathologist as he was doing autopsy, taking photos of the parts and just took for granted what the parts were never paying any real attention to their exact locations.... So this was a very nice review, especially the circulation and ports for insulin and bile.... looking forward to more of of your explanations.

I have been suffering from (HERPES) disease for the last four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees. During the first year, I had faith in God that I would be healed someday. This disease started to circulate all over my body and I have been taking treatment from my doctor, a few weeks ago I came on search on the internet if I could get any information concerning the prevention of this disease, on my search I saw a testimony of someone who has been healed from (Hepatitis B and Cancer) by this Man Dr. Standing Friday and she also gave the email address of this man and advise we should contact him for any sickness that he would be of help, so I wrote to Dr. Standing Friday telling him about my (HERPES Virus) he told me not to worry that I was going to be cured!! hmm i never believed it,, well after all the procedures and remedy given to me by this man few weeks later I started experiencing changes all over me as the Dr. assured me that I have cured, after some time i went to my doctor to confirmed if I have been finally healed behold it was TRUE, So friends my advice is if you have such sickness or any other at all you can email Dr. Standing Friday (drstandingfriday@gmail.com) sir I am indeed grateful for the help I will forever recommend you to my friends!!! with your lovely Email Address ( drstandingfriday@gmail.com or whatsapp him on +2348070861121. I had a plastic model, of an "Invisible Man" and an "Invisible Woman" that had clear "skin" and a removable abdominal 'skin' and each organ was removable. It did not have nearly the detail -- nerves, blood vessels, muscles, reproductive parts, etc -- but it DID give me a very good idea how everything "Fit" inside... even as an Elementary School kid. As a Child, I really wanted to grow up and BE a Doctor... a Medical Missionary, in fact, to under-developed parts of the World. But, things did not work out that way, as I grew older. I did study to become a Certified EMT, and volunteered for my community for several years, and I returned to college at over 40 years of age, to become an Athletic Trainer for a National Champion Sports Program. And I still think of my plastic Man & Woman from my childhood...

Truly wonderful! As a lay person trying to understand anatomy, the pictures in books just don't convey the 3D relationships between the organs. This 20 minute video gave me a better understanding than hours of reading and looking at illustrations.

Initialy the study of human anatomy may appear extremely complicated. It's true that it is not simple and your studies will not alter that. As for it being overwhelming, that can be eleviated if you take it one step at a time. I discovered an article on Sebs Study Crammer very helpful for this.

Thank you so much for this videos Mr. Webster, they are a great way to study I had one question from this: Based on how the anatomical model was created, can i assume that the abdominal organs are divided and organized into three layers, going from anterior to posterior? I noticed you had the small intestine piece taken off, then you took the stomach piece off, and then the pancreas piece (which included the large intestine and epithelial(?) tissue) and then showed (most posterior) the kidneys etc. Outside of the possibility that the creators of the model did this out of the sake of convenience, is it also understood in the medical community that abdominal organs are also divided by layers in this way, or was this only for the sake of convenience by the creators of the model? Thank you!
