Regarding the teen who was holding a fake gun and whose parents are demanding answers, why was he walking the streets with a fake gun? That’s the question that should be asked and answered. Police were called because a caller reported teen was pointing it. Stop blaming the police for responding to what could have been another cop or civilian being shot. The reason there is so much crime is a result of this cuddle approach to bad behavior. Do stupid things and consequences will follow.

It certainly isn't teaching him about accepting the consequences of his actions when the mother's first thought is to make money from a lawsuit. IMO as a parent, she should be telling him that he's going to have to accept the fallout from him pointing a gun at homes and threatening to shoot. None of those people should have been subjected to that kind of fear. They had no way of knowing the gun...this time....was a fake.

There’s also the possibility that this 15 yo also suffered from mental illness. Even more reason for the parents to have watched him more closely and had him on prescribed medicated. Sure they do! Because even "Real" guns are legal to carry around in public when you're Caucasian even without a permit in many states. Even automatic weapons.... however any black or darker skinned child over 5'4" are automatically considered a dangerous homicidal threat without verification or stated intent of threat verbally or visually.

I don't think that's the issue. The issue is that they pulled the trigger too fast. Remember Tamir Rice? They shot that child before even stopping the car. He was 12, black and outside playing with a toy gun. They hadn't even stopped the car when they shot him and then the cop that pulled the trigger bragged about it on social media. He still has a job. Too many times cops pull the trigger when they don't have to. That's the issue. It all adds up.

Yes, and this is the way Pharma is pushing to put immunotherapy treatment for cancer up front and chemotherapy on the back burner. Even when chemotherapy does not work on a cancer patient and second line is immunotherapy insurance will fight it to nail and tooth to NOT cover the new treatment immunotherapy. Insurance companies are pissed off they feel COVID reap them off their earnings when they had to pay $$$$ for many years. That police interview was literally 3 hours after after the stabbing. The police suspected they knew who it was but nothing to formally ID him. It wasn't until his parents from another state recognised him on TV they contacted NSW police. And then he was publicly identified as Joel Cauchi from Queensland.

In reality it falls on the parents. What kinda of area does he live in? So what’s the reason for the fake weapon? If he didn’t reach for it a scream it’s fake then obviously he knew his actions were wrong. So the Mom and Dad didn’t teach him safety. Especially in a day and age of elementary school kids bringing them to school and shooting their teachers. Regardless of the officers actions it takes two to tango as in both of these actions have consequences as well. It’s not a wrongful death thankfully, but this kid is lucky because officers are trained to empty their mags. I’ve been shot before and no it doesn’t feel good but why would you pull it out without thinking of the consequences of his own actions.
