Actually the new cost is $13 million per detainee. Costs go towards medical, the security there, trials, etc.

Even better we should force death row inmates to be rollercoaster and car crash test dummies. I’m sure using a real human would be far better than a plastic dummy for accurate test results. We would actually learn a lot about crashes and how they affect the body if we could “ethically” study it in real time. Not after the fact

I like how some blame Mr. Trump for Gitmo still being open. No one suggests O'bummer for doing nothing to close Gitmo.....for 8 lousy years in office....I 'm also happy that Gitmo is open......So far I haven't heard or seen anyone there beheaded. Burned alive, Stoned to death, nor any other atrocities those animals have bestowed on innocents around the world.. 15 Years at War, we hold about 41 POW's (not Detainees, it's what the People in Charge call it) close "Gitmo" and transfer to Super Max Prison to the US. WIn/Lose/or Draw one day these POW,s will have to be released.

Typical numbers are $30k to $60k per year, per inmate. It depends on what level of security is needed. I know it's hard to put a number on it because it is a military base and now there are only 40 inmates still there. But the base will remain open even if their were nobody behind bars.
