that super fuse really crushes the kick. Definitely a parallel process and not a 100% setting with that control. Sounds good on vocals.

It does indeed smash the drums. I wouldn't have normally used it on this material, but it did a good job of demonstrating how aggressive it can be. I think it would sound great crushing drum room mics. I really like the sound on bass and vocals, which makes sense as this is a tube compressor with slower attack times.

The Kush AR-1 is the closest to this, and is a bit more flexible.

Thanks for overview... I wonder why, of the dozen or so of these overviews I've seen the last couple of days, only one (not this one) varied the input to alter the characteristics of the compression as the unit was being demonstrated... The input control is there for a reason... Was it a waves reviewing guideline that somehow forbade touching the input control while auditioning the sound?... Anyway again, thanks for the overview.

While I didn't move the input as audio was playing, you'll see it is different in each example - 9 for vocals, 2 for bass, and 5 for drums and guitars, covering much of the input range.
