This is the opening song of the Abba Voyage concert on London. It sets the tone of what is an absolutely amazing show. The way it builds and that 'outer worldly' sound was so ahead of its time and the perfect opener to the concert. I'm convinced Abba were sent from a more advanced planet. Masterpiece

This is an EPIC song and so underrated in ABBA’s catalog. Such a forward sounding song upon release back in ‘81 and still sounds ahead of its time even now! Brilliant production and so apparent that Benny was heavily involved in that given the prominent synth work and overall electronic feel to the song. It’s a masterpiece of studio craft as well as a damn incredibly melodic and catchy song. It would be good if you guys communicated a little more about what specifically you hear in a song when you do a video reaction. And why you did or didn’t like what you heard or saw (if your reaction post is with music video). Where are you guys based? I’m assuming UK, but, I’m an American, so, you know how that goes, we can be “thick” when it comes to things out of our bubble, 😝

Hello from Texas- First of all "Thank you" for letting the song complete. A song has to flow, it cant be stopped of the composition is lost. This ABBA change came at the end of the Disco era so I understood the direction when it was released. Still my personal favorite, but so many are good. ABBA brought beautiful harmony to music and I compare their ability to harmonize as a group, just as good as the individual ability of Freddy Mercury, the best of all singers. ABBA didn't sell explosions, lasers, unique guitar riffs, or even a political position. ABBA was based on authentic talent, imagination, class, and a beautiful stage presence that remained timeless. And before I get labeled a fan boy, know that I have no borders on music. In my tunes you find Black Sabbath, KC and the Sunshine Band, DEVO, Echo and the Bunnymen, NWA, AC/DC , Judas, Sid Vicious, The Animals, Charlie Pride, The Judds, and even the 1964 Drifters. But of course, Led Zeppelin will always be number one. If you love just one genre, then you are missing so much. I love ABBA, they remind me of Enya. People that write their music off are really missing some gem art. Great review, and again.. Thank you for letting the song complete. Thats what makes you better than the others !!!

don't know if you know (or care), but this song was HUGE, HUGE in gay bars after it came out. The dj always played the extended cut and would synch it so that the bridge at 4:00 was in a loop two or three times, and on the final rep, the dj cracked the "eggs" up in the ceiling frame, covering the dancers in a shower of confetti, most of which would stick to the dancers because everyone was shirtless and sweaty and drunk and high on poppers. Ah, such good memories.

If I remember correctly, it was referring to the mistreatment of political dissidents in the Soviet Union, but of course the lyrics could be fit to any such situation.

@@Quessir They made a point of fudging it later and saying it wasn't so specific, but I (very presumptuously) do think they meant something along the lines of "if it's about a moment in history, people won't realise it's still going on."

Another darker song is "I'm a marionette" from the A𐐒BA the album.. album! You might like to compare it to GHOST's cover version. Most people say the ABBA one is creepier! BTW can you put the microphone closer to you, or record sound separately on a phone? Your voices are hard to understand as the room is echoey.

Great review guys, the song is about dissidents in Russia in early 80’s, though Bjorn (lyricist) never said what song was about ‘till 1994, so the public could decipher it in their own way. The track was a major gay underground anthem in USA in 1983, a ‘Hot Tracks’ remix was produced, the gay community likened the ambiguity of the lyrics to their own suppressed environment, with the fear of being outed and losing their jobs and their place in society. The Soviet Union sussed the song lyrics in 1981 and the album was banned there. ABBA had a huge fan base there, Money Money Money was ironically the first No’1 in the First Russian pop chart compiled in 1976, any ABBA records released there would create huge crowds at record stores for the limited supply, one story was Police had to be called to quell the crowd. If you into Heavy rock....try ABBA’s Hole In Your Soul. Take care

I am a gay boy and I did not like ABBA. Right from the start this song really grabbed me. We danced to it in the clubs when it first was released. It seems very intricate, seamless changes in tempo and music style. The aliens are arriving. In 1981 we felt like aliens. It's a masterpiece.

@@starry2006 I know nothing about Numan. ABBA has a lot of rock-style songs Fernando (rock ballad) Knowing me, Knowing you (too difficult for pop genre) Waterloo (glam rock), Ring Ring (glam rock), So Long (glam rock), SOS (progressive rock) Get On the Carousel (live version is a glam rock), I'am marionette (live version is a glam rock and too metallic), Does your mother know (Elthon John's rock guitar) Why Did It Have to Be Me? (Rock'n'Roll), Rock me, The Visitors, Like an Angel Passing Through My Room, I do I do I do. Hole In Your Soul, On and on and On, Rock’n Roll Band Eagle (art rock), Bang-A-Boomerang (Schlager) Love Isn't Easy (country rock) Watch Out (Glam rock)
