this is one of my fave ABBA songs ! My parents played ABBA a whole lot --and this song sticks in my mind of one of their best "rocker" -type songs and I love it !!!

I'm from the US, and when I was a kid this was my favorite song! It would come on the radio driving to the beach, and we would all be singing it! I live in Chatsworth California and we thought they were saying " And I can "Chatsworth yah baby" LOL

They start it like the original demo for the song! ABBA rules! Period. xoxo The Clarences

Other bands have tried to cover this song; but just cannot; because it sounds terrible by anyone but ABBA. Hence, the genius of ABBA. Songs written such that only absolute top talent can make them sound good. Bjorn and Benny knew that for some songs; like this one, only the 4 of them could make it sound like a hit.

I read that Abba used an Eventide H3000 D/SE Ultra Harmonizer Multi Effects Rack to get all those extra voices and in tight harmony. Of course they also had 3 great back up singers.

Raghad 1997 Yes, Paul McCartney taught himself the piano and Lennon also picked up a little--but they had nothing on Benny--completely self-taught. Phenomenal!

The blond one is Bjorn Ulvaeus, Agnetha's husband at time. The one playing the piano is Benny Anderson.

Why the lip-syncing?

For some reason i feel like back then Frieda might have an affair with Bjorn. In some of their videos those two seem more close to each other than the actual couple. 😕!?

I think that has all to do with stage performance, and nothing beyond that.

Bjorn and Agnetha had separated only a couple of months before this show. That would explain why the weren't acting as close together. He had already found a new partner at this time. Lena, his wife for 35 years now. Frida and Benny had finally married a few months before this too. Frida and Bjorn. Just good friends, that's all.

@Spastik I think they had just grown apart. Agnetha is very family orientated while Bjorn is a confirmed workaholic who thought he could combine both. Reading various Agnetha quotes, it would seem the marriage was quite tempestuous from early on. That they were both in the same megagroup just increased the pressure.

Those guitar openings are killer good. But something's off. Zero interaction between the girls and Frida? She's almost always the stage performer but here it's barely noticeable. A bit of sadness I hint

Poor Bjorn, he lacks dancing rhythm, and Benny bouncing off his seat, lol! But the girls do so much better with their dancing abilities!

It looks like the two girls had an affair...

I cant tell if they're lipsynchign or not....

It's usually because they are promoting a single and they want the TV viewers to hear the recorded version, not how it would sound totally live. Some parts of this are actually performed live. They did this song fully live during their concert tour later the same year when it is much more 'rocked up'.

I’ve watched a many ABBA videos and I didn’t realize they lip synced so much
