I love this game. It’s the gaming equivalent of a B-movie; it’s got no polish, no class, but danged if there isn’t a good time to be had nonetheless.

Woahhh, I didn't realize this game was on the Switch! This is one of my favorite NES games! Very difficult, but beatable with some practice.

Ordered this from Strictly Limited, soo... I might get it at some point in the future. Hopefully before Metroid Prime 4 releases😅

I buy most of their games but skipped this one. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t convince myself that an emulated NES game was worth what they were asking for. Now it’s sold out and I kind of regret it 🙄 might get it digitally though when the price is right.

That flicker really kills me...if not for that I'd surely get this.

This game is brilliant , exactly for the reasons you state! i tmho though i hink the graphics are pretty good for the time whilst the soundtrack is just awesome.

These games should have been remastered in HD before being released on the Switch.

I had a hell of a time tracking down a Famicom cart for this game last year for a reasonable price (had to play the Tengu, ya know?) I was shocked when this game was selected for a rerelease. And I was maybe equally shocked to see you give it a recommend. But happy too, no doubt - it's an oddball misfire in all the most charming ways.

I just found out about this release. It's cool this game is getting a re-release, especially considering I remember a time when Zombie Nation was the only official NES game not to be listed on the NES Guide website until around 2007-2009. That's when I found out about this insane game.

We used to own a copy of Zombie Nation back when I was a kid. I was so terrified of the first boss that I just kept killing myself on Stage 1-2. 😂 I did eventually beat it though. Never knew it had a Bomb system!

Actually it's the other way round, Zombie Nation is the original version of the game, the character was changed to a tengu for Japan because the developers thought playing as a giant severed head would be too gross for Japanese audiences

It's a Japanese game that was released in Japan first.

I've got this one on my wish list. I definitely want to pick it up at some point, but I'm not paying twelve bucks for (effectively) a single NES game, especially one that looks like it has limited replayability. I figure it should go on sale sooner or later.

Was contemplating the Switch version just now but... This looks like ass so I'm just gonna buy an emulation handheld for 3x the selling price but then be able to play whatever else as well. The extras in the package can be found online; that doesn't do it for me.
