What an interesting find. Someone’s grandmother lived there, with the sewing machines and all those jars of preserves that she put up. The woman in that framed photo was an actress from the 1940’s named Simone Simon. She starred in a popular film called Cat People. I guess grandmother was a fan. I like how respectful you are of someone’s property and that you closed the door when you left.

I'm not sure if the jarred food was still good. I remember as a kid going to my grandparents house, They had jelly and jam along with some other stuff that was dated as far back as the 60's, I know we had jelly and jam we were eating and that was in the 70's.

Talinda Kelley Well no, I didn’t say it was still good 😄 just that it was there. Putting up canned foods used to be such a grandma-type of thing to do, although it seems to be making a comeback which is nice.

I can't do it, I would probably blow myself up on my first try 😂😂 but, I would buy it from someone if I can find someone willing to sell. It's much healthier and tastes better, at least my grandma and moms did anyway 😂😂

Newspaper is used for insulation back then. Disposable diapers weren’t popular until the 70’s. Curtains are from the 60’s. Paneling is from the 60’s or 70’s. That fluorescent bulb is within the last 15/20 years. Little girl pic is 70’s so she was born 65-75 probably.

Be interesting to know what happened. The suitcases sitting in the living room. Had they just returned home & something happened or were they waiting to go & something happened? Strange too that it sitting is right beside a road like that & no info about it?

It's crazy to me that a home can just be left like that and be completely undisturbed. Very mysterious, especially at the end when you found what I'm assuming was a moving van with furniture still in it. It's like the people just vanished or suddenly passed away and had no friends or family to do anything with the house. So strange.

You know it's a really old house when there's a fire place on the second level and in multiple rooms. It's a sign this place was built before central heating systems and probably before coal was used as a main fuel source. This place could possibly be built in the mid 19th century if not older.

They won't be doing this for very much longer when they're not wearing masks, but wearing gloves as if your hands are more important than your lungs. I've seen them walk through visible black mold several times. People just don't do that and stay healthy.

This once was a pretty fine place in its day. There was a lot from the 1950s and 60s in there, the television is late 50s or early 60s. I want those stoves, and the kitchen unit. The silver and black framed photo of a girl was classic Art Deco before it was smashed. Very cool find...thanks for sharing.🖤🇨🇦

Judging by a place that I assume had last been vacant since 2001 (because of the coke can in the beginning), this home still looks surprisingly pretty well in tact. I've seen other places that had been abandoned since 2005 or 06 that look considerable worse than this. So it's actually quite remarkable. Great find!

WHY are there always bits of Christmas stuff in these places? They are everywhere...it’s like you can’t leave a house vacant and abandoned unless it’s near December 25th. Check as the urbexers you follow upload, a significantly large sample have Christmas stuff just hanging around randomly.🖤🇨🇦
