Malted milk was first made in the mid 1800s by British food manufacturers brothers James and William Horlick. It was sold as a nutritional supplement marketed for “infants and invalids.” It is made from malted barley, wheat flour, and evaporated whole milk. It was often sold in "slabs" rather than the handy powder we have now. Malted Milk was used to make Biscuits and Malted Milk Balls. "Sliced" meant the slabs were cut into smaller easier to handle chunks. Cool finding the fallout shelter stuff in there. During the Cold War they would make us watch films on that to do "when" (not if) Russia dropped Atomic Bombs on us. You can find one of them on youtube if you search for "Duck and Cover". They made us do monthly drills where we would make sure all the windows were closed, pull the thick classroom curtains closed, then hide under our desks. We did that till about the middle of 1969.

This is the type of gold mine from a move or a theme park. Very cool.

That Anvil was a stamp die. For a stamp Mill. You have the shoe which is on the boss which is connected to the stem then you have the tablet so this s cam can rotate. The die sits in the motor box. So that's part of the stamp Mill pretty cool. I have a couple of them and I never ever thought of using them for an anvil

Our 1960's college buildlng had a CD shelter in the basement. Being poor students, we raided it for the "biscuits" (crackers). With jam on top they weren't bad. In the 1980's we found a shelter in an abandoned Mojave Desert mine. A water drum is my office trash can, After they were empty, BTW, the drums became toilets using large plastic storage bags and toilet seats. I still have a full carton of canned biscuits. The mine entrance was closed in 2003.

My research shows me that the work pants you found are worth about $175. to $5,000, maybe more....for real....dollars. The work pants were made about 1905-1906. being cut off matters not.

@@cyberleaderandy1 yes, he even went older than that with some civil war hard tack crackers or something. He's a funny guy. I hope he doesn't get botulism someday. Said he got ecoli from some modern Ukrainian rations before. Sketchy to mess around with some of the rusty cans, etc. His channel is Steve1989MREInfo.

How would they vent the exhaust/smoke/fumes from the blacksmith shop, being that it's underground?

Should have checked out the boxes with the crescent moon symbol, those were C rations, would be interesting to see what meals were stored there, way things are going right now they may be handy now. 😉😉🤔

The moon looked familiar to me too. Look up online "humanitarian daily rations" box/cases. I think they are still made by Sopakco. Probably shipping a lot of them over to Ukraine right about now.

He won't do nukes, because he knows all too well that we have 14 Ohio class subs lurking under the waves. Each one carries 24 trident missiles ready to launch within 90 feet of the surface of water. Each missile carries 8 independent MIRV warheads. He does not want to see Moscow and St. Petersburg reduced to ashes. At this point, his military leaders would probably refuse to launch anyway. They don't trust him anymore. Sometimes people forget about our submarines but they are always vigilant - watching and waiting.

I predict he eventually gets caught plundering artifacts from mines, because in Canada they have laws to protect these historic sites, just like we do in the United States. It's a federal offense in the United States to remove artifacts from mines on public land.
