When you get that W350 body off, the first thing you need to address is the DOWL PIN OF DEATH on that Cummins. It's a cheap and easy fix that'll keep the engine from basically eating itself.

john weisinger You’re right. That’s high on the list. Thanks!

Would you mind explaining to me what that is , " dowl pin of Death " ? Mine is high mileage and probably needs it too but I don't have a clue what you are talking about ? Thanks much !
@johnweisinger7390

WH it's only a problem on the 12 valve Cummins. There's a steel dowel pin that locates the timing cover. It can work loose and fall down in your timing gears, destroying your engine. The fix is as simple as a small bolt on tab to hold the dowel pin in place.

@@johnweisinger7390 Thank you ! My old ' 93 has 650K on it so I should take a look at that ! I'm glad I saw your post. The old motor doesn't owe me another mile but don't want to trash it just the same ! Thanks again !
I have an explanation for all the rust. I think it may have been a Michigan truck. The stickers on the dash are a dead giveaway. WMKC is a country radio station in northern Michigan. We are well known for our road salt and rusty vehicles.
Cool. Looking forward to seeing the project. Have a wonderful New Year Dylan.
Hey there Dillon good video man I enjoyed it and I hope you and your whole family had a nice Christmas and I hope you guys have a happy New Year 2
Hey Dylan! I'm alot like your dad, in the fact I love the 60's and early 70's dodge trucks. My first truck was a 70 d100. Dream truck is a 64' w350 quad cab dually! That being said, I can't wait to see the truck when it's done!!! I know, given past frame swaps you've done, this will be nothing short of AWESOME!!! Keep us informed, and a Happy New Year to you and your family!!!
Loved that recovery video on your '68 D100. I also have my Dad's 1968 D200 orig built in Missouri, currently in Oregon. Same paint color, etc. Mine runs and has been kept up. Paint condition is nearly exactly the same as yours. Its fun to work on. Mine is a 383 3/4 Camper Special. Hope you get your Sweptline on the road.
Another great video Dylan....got to love Dodge trucks, the earlier the better! 😉😎 I hope that you and your family enjoyed a joyful christmas, with plenty of good stuff under the tree! Wish you and yours a Happy New Year when it knocks on your door.... Here's to 250,000 subs under 2019! 🍻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Neat setup! I have got to see this progress to the end!! Good stuff!
now that was a great Buy can't wait to see that project God bless and happy New Years
Good plan for the '68 Dodge D100! I know I am easily amused, but I still crack up, every time in your opening video, when your old police car, pulls out to "chase" the pickup truck that flies by! That's a classic! Thanks, I always enjoy your videos.😊
Coolest thing I've seen you do so far!
Can't wait to see this build
Keep up the great work Dylan keep giving these cars a 2nd chance at life I like what you do!
Looking forward to this build Dylan! Love how you guys use a ford as your tow 🐖!
that looks like a great conversion, a powerful 4 x 4 with a nice old dodge body....sweet!
Keep on truckin' pops! 🔨⬇️
THIS ........ is going to be a great project. Time for a full-blown build series. Please bring us along.
12 minute video really? I wanted to see that thing torn apart already haha can't wait to see the project in motion, keep the good videos comming
Hey Dillon I’ve been looking for a 1980s dodge but I don’t know where to look? How do you find your cars? I can’t seem to figure out how to search for them, and what should I begin with it when I get one? Keep up good the work
@11:00 that's a true floor board! I think it's a great plan, can't wait!
Did you check the plastic gear at the bottom of the dis. on that slant six, they are bad at shearing off, pull the cap and see if the rotter is spinging
Hey guys nice find! This Dodge 100 got my attention so I subscribed to your channel! I hope your Dad decides to build this one up! Its my opinion these trucks are more rare then the dime a dozen Chevys and Fords, and are gaining popularity. I got a 71 W100 I'm working on feel free to check it out on my channel. Hope to see more of the 68' D100! Good luck with the '68!
That's an awesome idea, I always liked the older bodies on newer 4x4 frames. Way cool!
That is going to be an awesome swap...will you run vertical exhaust, or stay stock?
Is the plastic on the filler tube for the gas take in good condition if so how much?
@ :55 - what year is the old Chevy sitting next to that Dodge? My dad had a '60 Apache 10 when I was a kid. 261 w/overdrive. Short and narrow, same as it appears your truck is. Don't see too many Apache's anymore.
glad to see the more you ran the cummins the better the smoke cleared up how long had it been sitting
Did you get any footage of the swap, I think it’s sitting in the driveway when you cleaned the Cobra II? If no footage can you show us what it’s looking like now.
Cool project, we need more Sweptline videos :)
Awesome idea looking forward top watching this
Can't wait to see it
Gonna be an awesome swap!
Welcome to the Sweptline family. I have quite a few videos on my 70 D100 if you wanted to check it out.
Did you disconnect the rear brakes, then stand on the front brakes to smoke the tires?
Gotta love those early Cummins pickups, they sound like a Kenworth. Coolest sounding diesel pickup on the planet.
looking forward to seeing it happen
Don't ruin the '68 with a frame swap. Drop a 318 or a 360 in there and just enjoy it. It's your Dad's call because it's his truck.

I agree 💯! The internet is killing soo many rad d100’s with this frame swap trend. We have a original 1968 d100 with a 383, such a sweet old truck.
good choice on the 6bt
I think you should've put a 318 or 383 in it hell make a stroker next time that would be sick lol i had a 66 truck but i had a 318 wide block 4 sp i missvthat old truck got it from this old guy for 500 bucks just needed the timing fixed.
Really glad you got the truck. The Po obviously didn't treat it right you should never use starting fluid with the instead heater, could probably use some cleaned or new injectors but mechanically looks good. Can't wait to see the finished product. And thank you for getting a trashed first fen to tear apart. Not a really clean one like some others
Lovin that rear bumper
Yay!! A diesel!! And a Cummins!! Let me at it and I’ll get you some black smoke and HP!! 😆 haha I love the custom floor delete Dylan! Haha
love the Bible verse in the description
What year model is the 4 x 4 ? 160 hp cummins ? Ive got a 93 D350 with a 160 hp cummins , 12 valve , it has been a great motor. Has 650,000 on her and she still runs great. Mine is a 5 spd stick shift.
Why does it smoke so much at startup ? Valve seals ? or something else ? will be a great swap for sure !
Keep it up man, Love the content variety you offer up for us, happy holidays!
Rusty? Where I come from, that's not even close to rusty. Around here, that truck would get a new windshield and a full tank of fuel and be driven daily for another ten years. On my 99 Ram, the inner fender fell out because there was nothing left to hold it on and I drove it like that for a while longer. You could poke your finger through the bumper on my 94 when I got rid of that one. Rusty indeed lol. I enjoy your vids, keep them coming! Or is that Cummins ;)
That clean first gen shorty you parted out for the other sweep line kinda got me in the feels but this is going to be FKN killer also check the turbo for shaft play the white smoke is likely the seals are shit
Cool Mopar truck 's
Thank you!
Hey I want to say how was your Christmas holiday did you get any new cars and trucks for Christmas this year ?
That will be one cool truck and would you ever sell any of the parts off of that truck
Hi Dylan!
I think diesel content is great! Wish I had one of those 1st gen Cummins trucks! :)
That diesel sounds bad ass
Good job
I love vehicles with clapper wipers lol...that '68 is sweet bro
This will be a good classic looking Mopar tow rig to bring all those other classic mopars home.
When you strip that cummins i would save all the body trim and grille surround. Its hard to find anymore
Pops can still smoke 'em! :O)
Big fat feild mouse come falling out of the hood I bet it was up there collecting the insulation from the hood to build a nest LOL!! anyway that 12 valve is a good engine
If you are willing to part out that old Cummins I’d love to have the grill and sliding rear window for our 88 Dodge Ram W350 tow truck build we’re doing we can’t find any of those parts in our junkyards up here if we could get those off you that’d be amazing thank you
Bet yall put farm diesel in it lol
That'll be really cool. It's like a new life for the long bed versions of that earlier model. Or in other words, the price of the 60's - '71 Dodge trucks just went up. lol
So funny. Watched the vid of you pulling this out couple hours ago.
You wander what happened to that truck that had been sitting for 24 years?? Well it's still sitting just in a different spot! Great!
freaking awesome
You will get a lot of views on that build too. Diesel swaps are popular now. 👍
Gotta do something about that one wheel wonder.
Brother if you lived here in IL you would look at that squarebody and call that "solid" lol! I drive a 78 c25 that I warn people to put their weight on the seat and not the floor. God bless!
Dylan did you get my FB msgs with my sweptlines?
No pressure washing the new truck? lol
I really hope you keep the three speed in it because that is a lot more fun than an automatic
I was expecting a mouse to come flying out the tail pipe when you fired the old girl up , good luck on the body swap , you got a lot of work to do !
You should sent me that hood, wiper motor, tail lights and grille set off the 89 to me haha, God I love 80s and older dodges
Hey Dylan you're in Illinois right?
Gonna be such a cool video to watch when you swap the bodies.
Hi from New Zealand.
My dad and I are about to do a swap like this. We purchased a 1990 250 cummins 4wd auto and we are going to frame swap it onto our 1970 w200.
The 1st gen Cummins trucks, specifically 1993, are my favorite Ram trucks.

I could really use the driver door for my D100. If you still have it let me know please
Put 3 ton axels under it
How do you get the bed bolts loosen up? I'm working on a 78 Ford Ranger XLT and this bed is killing me.

Cool swap
What's the plan for the GM truck sitting beside it?
It's something different.👍👍
That is gonna be a sweet truck. Great plan.
@Dylan McCool hey dude my grandfather had a rarer one of these Cummins it was a 91 250 or 350 one of those with diamond plating around it. Then he I think sold it for 5,000 or 4
03:34 THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!😂
I can't wait to see the D100 first gen Dodge Cummins swap.
😂😂😂that rat almost got you..
Dig the 68 I had a friend that had one with a hemi in it, he owned it for about a week and totalled it 😪
Perfect time to put some money in in that 5.9 speed parts
That truck is identical to my truck except that mine has a 318 and automatic transmission, and mine only has 63,000 original miles on it. Cool swap to 4x4 though.
Is sounds like it has a few low cylinders
YES Take care of the killer dowel pin, make sure the crank case breather is clear and let her eat!!!
Hi brother I ha e one pick UP 63 dodge similar blue one that you ending video ln San José de Del cabos baja California Sur
The 68 looks tight slammed to the ground
