I think everyone loves a restoration/rebuild video series, but you know how much it would cost. Parts are needed, so it makes sense to part it out too. But the idea of seeing that truck remaining functional for years to come is something we all appreciate. Save it!!!
@jerkyturkey0072 жыл бұрын
Look into its history, it may be from somewhere in the rust belt. If it were my decision, I'd fix her up and put her to work. You know better than I do the harder you work those old Cummins the better they run. Like you said the combination of 12 valve and manual transmission is becoming super rare and go up in value and there's good reason for that... pre def and single wire, need I say more?

@@markbremmer8642 : They realize just fine. They simply don't care. California has been a cesspool of air quality problems for a long, long time. California's underlying problems run much deeper than simple motor vehicle pollution. They have far too many people crammed into a small space with inadequate ventilation. Plain & simple. Beyond all that, follow the money. There's big money to be made in following the trend of "going green" these days. If there weren't, it wouldn't be happening. "It's a 12v, that thing will run on used motor oil.". 😂😂. FIX IT!!!!!
Me personally, I love the restore content, but you spent alot of time on grandma's truck. You and 12 valves just seem to work yourselves out to the correct path.
We had an obs 7.3 liter that had been sitting outside for 18 years. Finally, we pulled it inside and after about 30 seconds of cranking she fired right up!
Flatbed dually swap? Maybe smokestacks?
Looks like Drummond’s old bumper too.
Use it for parts. That truck wasn't only in CA...the salvage title alone is a red flag. I have enjoyed your videos for a while, just got linked through a computer recognition of company Gmail address and KZread came alive. Love Grandma's truck and what you did with her.
What are those chrome tie down things on the bed i like them they look cool
It's already doing better it's running, it may need alot of work, if it's not restored and gives it's parts to a couple trucks then it's still useful
Be nice to see it road worthy again
Even before truck prices got way out of hand here a beat up high mileage 2nd gen would be 10k if you could find one for sale in the first place
Now that's a cool truck. These trucks just seem to fall into your lap lol.
Then thing tapped in the coolant hose is for one of the gauges tells the coolant temperature
Did it have grid heat deleated, good work truck
I’m really hoping you save this truck
Like the Vice grip Garage plug..... "A guy has too many 12 valves"! Unless you have a plan for the engine and trans Id clean her up, give it a full service, make it roadworthy/legal, and flip it.

Idk how people are so lucky to find abandoned Cummins I really want a Cummins sense I was a kid still can’t find one worth buying for the asking price
How much to buy in current condition (to include shipping to Scotland🤣☹️🤣👍🏻). Great channel, particularly liked this video, best wishes.

I could not be arsed trying drive that over here. Left hand drive as well. That makes my old Range rover look small.
I seen your video on your 550 registration for next year and that sucks. And I saw on Google that generators , 2 stroke small engines , and gas powered lawn mowers were also going to be outlawed in California as well. Is there any truth to that. Man I sure hope it's not so for every working man's sake .

All SORE (small off road engines ) illegal for sale in California as of January 2024 . Thanks California ! We will just use battery powered stuff that slave labor is used to pull minerals out of the earth like lithium and cobalt used to make batteries . Look up the cost of green energy it’s a hoax.

The government doesn't realize, that you still need Diesel powered equipment to mine the ingredients for electric powered equipment.

Humanity seems to thrive on self-inflicted (created) chaos.
Good old truck.
Heck, that's what we call a solid truck here. That body is good for at least another 10 years and that would be in Iowa
First will it run I've seen on a dodge Cummins
Please restore it!
I'll buy it if fix it up a little bit it looks like a solid truck

How do I make my 01 Cummins 24 valve to sound like that between gears
PLEASE FIX / RESTORE / RECYCLE THE RAM ....

👍
No idea what you should do with it. I like the short bed Cummins myself. I like to cruise around now, I wouldn’t work mine hard since they’re getting older. Make a short bed cruiser out of it? 🤷♂️
I vote put the drive train in the blazer.
I’d say restore it and put a skirted flat bed in it!!!! Okay so I won’t your opinion on my truck I am restoring.(im 15 btw) so I have a 1974 international harvester 200 4x4 that I am putting a 12v Cummins in w a 5 speed manual what would u think about it when I get it finished would it be cool?
