Honestly...to me, this was better than Netflix. All the twists and turns. The drama. The bromance. The climatic last mile...I'm not even a mechanic and that was amazing. I even watch a bit with my wife.

As a mechanic, I was surprised it wasn't rusted up solid, with all that water that came out of it.
As a Brit who moved the North America, I actually cannot stress enough how much I miss Manual cars. They are hard to find, but I treasure all I can find.
That smile on Chris' face, looking up at the exhaust smoking for the first time...PRICELESS ...Like a little child !!! Man, he deserves every cent he gets from anywhere...for such hard work AND his know-how !!! Jen is such a lucky girl !! Lovely to see the little "Dynamo" when he was a little puppy too ❤
Always amazed at the ability of mechanics to get these old beasts running. Respect the work ethic to produce these videos…
I am absolutely stunned to see that beast running and moving under its own power. It makes me wonder how many heavy machines have gone to an early grave because people just don't know how to fix things anymore? 🤔

It always puts a smile on my face to see a big ole forgotten cat fire up with a little effort. Definitely a machine built to last the rest of time.
I don't even know why I liked this. I don't care about mechanical stuff but I subscribed. Very entertaining.
It’s amazing how long this old machines can set and yet come back to life.

It never ceases to amaze me how indestructible those old diesels are. I've seen dozens of videos where someone does a little work to one that sat neglected for decades and then they just run. Theres a bulldozer that has been sitting at an old farm not far from my home since I moved to the area almost 30 years ago, I remember my school bus would drive past it every day when I was in early high-school, if I remember correctly it had a US Army stencil on the side. Looked like it was very old. Maybe WWII surplus. Wonder if it would start.

Dude your approach to walking up to anything with an engine is impressive. I would have walked away from engines that only needed new spark plugs; however, you pull off the unthinkable. That is so inspiring to us. I think if there were more of you out there. Noone would go out and buy new cars or trucks, because we would just have you fix them up at a cheaper cost. Thanks for what you do. Keep wrenching.......

Back in the 1970s I worked for a paving company and we had a 955 K Cat. LOVED that machine. Ours had the clam shell bucket for picking up slabs of concrete. If you worked it hard it would use an entire fuel tank of diesel fuel in 8 hours. Hearing yours starting up and running brought back lots of memories.

I'm sure you really loved that hydraulics pipe right by your face there.
I served my time at a CAT shop in England,75 to 79.This was an oldie even then.Fast forward to Australia in the 2020s,I see machines this age and plenty more still at work on remote stations clearing dams and fencelines.Only used now and again but worth holding onto.Yes,parts still available.
Andrew, would have never guessed in 100 years that you was talking about him, a great home for the CAT.

Dude don't know why but I became emotionally involved in you getting her running, the cheers when she fired up and when you got her moving were very loud . 🎉🎉 Looking forward to part 2 👍😁
My goodness she fired up, love your enthusiasm, thank you for your videos.
I was so happy to see her fire up, can’t imagine how excited it made you feel. Might have been your best Will It Start video
The sound of that turbo when you turned it off with the camera in the intake was beautiful 🤩
When you fired that up for the first time, I had the biggest smile on my face. I love to see an old CAT brought back to life, best motors on the fucking planet!
I’m sooooooo happy you and Andrew know each other. I’ve been watching his vids for quite some time now. As soon as you were rolling up his driveway I knew it was him….and then I saw the container castle🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
I absolutely love watching these will it run videos. It always amazes me how durable these old cats are. When you drained the oil pan I thought there was no way this thing would even turn over. Well done man.

Love watching these old abandoned machines comeback to life!!
Nothing cuter than a dapple Doxy. Well, maybe the lady holding him... I'll bet he's a handful now after a year! This was a really great video!
Chris, I was trying to think of the word for how you get things done. Resourceful, that is what you are, resourceful. It's 1:30 a.m. and I have been watching your videos and I couldn't stop until I saw the end of this one. You were Resourceful in finding a home for 977.
This is the type of things that I really love to do,bringing back an equipment back to life when it looks like it can't work again. You did a good job here.
What an amazing machine, to sit outside neglected for so many years and then fire right up and actually move..... They don't make them like that anymore... Great job Chris!

I had my doubts about this one!! but "WOW" she started right up after a shot of either, and kept starting right after, I think if someone cleaned this old CAT up she would make a good yard Dozer.
I am glad you got it to Andrew Camarata, it will be at home among the other Cats. All the very best to you from the UK.

Operated the 977 with a 4 in 1 bucket for 10 years. That loader can do so many jobs and it's fun to operate. I miss that machine.
I really love your stuff man, my father is a Mercedes and BMW independent mechanic, has been my whole life so fixing stuff is in my blood. He is a lot like you, the many cars, toys like boats, snow mobiles, motorcycles and other stuff. He like you fixes most things himself. We live in Oregon and I really look forward to sharing your video's with him.
Hello Chris! Well this was a lot of fun, I can't believe how good the motor sounds. When I saw all of the water in the oil I was thinking that it was done for. Really cool that Andrew ended up with the Dozer. Thumbs UP to you, I hope that you Jen and Gus have an awesome weekend!
Love your "go get em" attitude with all your projects. Your quite an inspiration to anyone who has ever thought "there is no way I can do that". Thanks for all you do.
Love seeing old engines being brought back to life🔥
Dude.....thats amazing!! MAD SKILLZ!!!
I used to run a Cat 955 and 977 for a small excavation company, these machines were great and ran fairly strong all the time. Dead batteries were the only thing that stopped them from working. Use ours for lot clearing, cuttings pads and demo jobs. One of the bast and easiest machines to run, better if it has a 4 in bucket.
No job too big, I like how you give anything with an engine a chance to live again. Gus is a great addition as well.
im geekin out right now but this is beautiful! "lets line em up" at the end had me havin goosebumps Chris you are a TRUE engineer my friend and a very knowledgeable person. seeing you work on these old machines that are the best of the best is what im looking for in life.. You tinker and fiddle with stuff even in the rain and all weathers just to get something working again! you have my respect and understanding! I love yours and Jens videos...(best stuff on KZread) NEVER stop doing what yous do to please the modern world because thats just a dead end...I will continue to love and support yous as long as yous stay true... God bless and "MADE IN AMERICA"
Awesome bro, well done man... thank you for taking the time and effort to show this video, really loved it😊😊😊
That Loader is amazing man. It goes like a new one that sat ..& sat... & that it started so readily . It fired before the ether and the steering clutch/brake on the one side works "like new". This was the most progressive and entertaining "will it start?" in the history of old machines. ( and cars )
Yoo... I just came across this vid, & was compelled to see just how far a person's determination can go. I'm sittin' on an auto restoration project, that's got me tougue-tided, because the parts I'll need, are scarce and therefore my '91 GTI may sit shrouded, and housed for yet for another decade. But after I watched you toil-over all the repair issues it took resurrect the 977; I felt the need to put my dream machine, back on the road again. So, I have you to thank for the encouragement. Continue the great work.
Fantastic buddy! Really enjoyed the video, you are a clever Engineer! Keep em coming.
That was AWSOME to see it working again and for YOU taking the time save it
Absolutely Amazing! Well done at bringing that old CAT Dozer back to life. I cannot wait to see part two where you two guys do the much needed repairs, and sprucing her up!
Looks like a 53A machine. D333 engine, 2 sp powershift. Very slow operating but in its day there wasn't anything else. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. 45yrs working on and for Cat.

Extraordinary! I seen lots abandon excavators and everyone leaves them out there. Everyone is to afraid to take on the challenge. Dude, this is very motivating video. Thank you for sharing.
this vid is just incredible!! If you would have seen this piece sitting like it was in the woods, you would think it would never be useful again except for a scrapyard. It was amazing how you got that thing back to life again, it was cool how you knew exactly what it needed and how quickly you got it running again!! Great video!!!
I think my group of friends all watch your videos now. Long drives in construction we love putting your videos on in the van! We appreciate your honest, normal guy approach!!! I could be a complete novice and enjoy every bit of the information!!!!
I’m pretty new to diesels having just bought a sail boat with an old Perkins/Volvo engine but I’m loving working on it (most of the time). They just seem more “alive” than petrol engines, more rugged. Loved watching this old bruiser come back to life after being forgotten for so long. 👍👍👍👍👍
I’ve been fighting with anxiety and depression and your videos really help me relax and just take a break for a while Thank you
I applaud your never give up attitude. That was unbelievable. They don't make em like this anymore!
One of the most amazing mechanical videos I’ve seen!
Really cool looking forward to part two. Love the channel keep up the good work.
You sure went several "extra miles" to give that old girl life again. Looks like she's ready to go to work both in body and spirit. Well done!
My dad actually ran one of those, day in and day out. He was an operating engineer and worked many jobs around Pittsburgh. It did my heart good to see you revive such a grand old machine.
This is straight up amazing. I 100% did not think this was going to run, much less move under its own power! I found this channel because of your Sea Ray videos but this is very much in my wheelhouse too.
It's amazing what some people are interested in! Who would even think of trying to revive a 37 year old trackter. Great stuff!
I have huge respect to folks like you, who dig - literally dig - into a major Project like this deflected CAT and bring it back to life for useful work. I’m new here and will be watching every video you create in this Great Mechanical Adventure. I admired your determination/guts when you crawled under this big old CAT and proceeded to remove that 1/2” skid plate, protecting that crankshaft gear. I would not be honest if I didn’t admit to being a bit concerned about your safety. Looking forward to the second half of this video. Best wishes to you and your family. Roy Lewis Buffalo, NY

a proper will it run! glad this was recommended really cool to watch. I was chatting to a cat mechanic and he recons most cat machines that were built are still out there a bit like this one. one thay just don't die and 2 there expensive and always worth fixing.
I just discovered your channel today and subscribed immediately. I love seeing old things brought back to life. I look forward to more episodes.
You have a high level mechanical skill and confidence. Congratulations.
That old beast reminds me of a early 1970s 955 we have at work. Our fleet shop just overhauled it and it's running like a champ. I haven't had a turn on it in 20 years as I'm no longer on the crew it belongs to but when I see it I get the itch to load a truck and make a run.:)
Few efforts I admire more than what I see you do here. Congrats !!
Love your vids, perfect mix of "Mad Max" and technically correct road service repairs. I get a kick out of the way you don't hesitate a second before you crawl under, through who knows what, to check on cranking the engine. Well done sir, well done!
I can't believe how good condition all the tracks and running gear are in! look forward to the next great video thanks for posting!!

Back in the 80s I worked on and operated a 977 cat and they are a true working man's rig. Unbelievable how much abuse they can take and still go and the easiest rebuild I have ever worked with. King Cat.😊
