These old David Browns are good machines. My grandfather bought one from a local farmer several years ago when he retired his farm. It always started right up when needed and ran without issue. The only reason we no longer have it is because he sold it. It was a bit too big for what he needed and traded it toward the New Holland 1715 we still have now. People knock on some tractors for being basic or entry level but I personally think those are the best ones. Very little to worry about, cheap to fix, do the job and no computers to go bad. :)

This is my first experience of them but everyone seems to swear by them. In fairness it fired right up. I've found a 990 that's been idle for decades, looking forward to seeing if that'll start. Thanks for watching 👍

There is one big place in Kentucky that part's these out but otherwise salvage yards here just don't have any so most of the time you have to travel more than 8 hours to get anyting or have it shipped with a extreme shipping price. Tractors have moved on a lot since those days! I grew up with a 1970 Ford 5000 and a '59 Dexta (that we still have). They were not built for comfort. One thing I'll say about the DB is cab access is dreadful. Then again all cabs were small then. Gotten too used to a flat floor and big doors! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment Jim.

After witnessing the tractor and it's condition and surrounds my guess is 17 to 18 years of sit time at the very least. Of course it was said the owner gave the information the plastic turning unit was the oil level stick. All of the electrical connections to the starter need removed and cleaned. She needs a snort of Cosby Sauce. The owner could tell a guess as to sit time. + or minus 5 years. Upon further inspection my guess is 27 to 28 years.
