Abandoned Sunday BMX Bike Restoration. (Satisfying)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Found this abandoned and rusted out Sunday Soundwave BMX bike and I wanted to restore it. It took a bit of effort but the resulting bicycle transformation speaks for itself.

Wow amazing job. Especially on the paint, not many guys actually taking the time and money to use a gun to paint on KZread the right way. But the results speak for themselves! I’d buy that bike and not bat an eye probably lol. I don’t think 75 percent of people would even know.

Nice colour scheme and paintjob man👏turned out beautiful, bought her right back to life:) Love that front tyre too, never seen that tread pattern before. I wondered why you didn't mask off the inside BB and a couple other bits but I guess it doesn't matter so much.
@KamaarhKenn

They were masked off. I probably didn't show it on camera but those bits always get masked off because when you go to reinstall bearings they normally don't want to fit

😅😅 You should. It feela good to bring these older bikes back to life and making them rideable once again
I recently fixed up my sisters old mongoose it’s a pretty decent bike considering how long it’s been sitting for, the cassette, chain and brakes were rusty so I had to do some work on it before it was up and running. The only problem with it is that it’s squeaky when I pedal, but overall a decent bike for what my sister got it for. 🤙🏾

I also have to mention that I picked up a random bike that someone decided to throw out off the street! It’s a kids bmx, it didn’t really need much just a wash, some lube, and a few adjustments before it was rideable. It is way smoother than my sisters mountain bike that’s for sure.
@KamaarhKenn
Жыл бұрын
That's sick. At least you're making the best out of something that was once forgotten. For your sister's bike, try taking apart the cranks and grease metal on metal contact surfaces. Just a little bit of grease and then put it back together. It should help with the squeeky noise
Nice

Paint stripper and sand paper. For the rusty parts, a lot of sanding is required to get them cleaned up

I recently got thanks to your video! I managed to find a rusty subsin btwin bmx 20" (basically a wallmart bmx) for less than 10$ and now I rly want to invest in the restoration and modding of the bike! Do you have any advices for a beginner in modding? Loved your videos ! Thanks for the amazing work!

Always make a list. Starting off with items that the bike needs like repairs or new parts, etc. Then follow up with what you would like to change or do on it. You'd rather have a crusty bike that works great than a clean bike that you hate to ride. A list also helps you budget and determine if a project is worth taking on or not. Some turn out to be money pits

I have, though Kazi huwa nafanya inahitaji a stronger machine, plus the electric one doesn't give as fine a finish and neither does it have the adjustability of a conventional airbrush. It might work for someone else but not for me personally.

For which song exactly?
Considering every single bike nowadays is black or raw, and those bright colored Sundays are worth a lot, it probably would have been better to do up original, or just leave alone, wash it and give it a tune up, just maybe repaint sprocket cranks, and do whatever with the wheels, along with the obvious like seat changes
@firedemon2166

Out of all new school bikes excluding retro ones, those bright colored Sundays are worth some of the most money
@KamaarhKenn
2 жыл бұрын
They probably are, but this one was super beat up. And around where I'm from, all that most people know is that a bike with a small sprocket and cassette driver is a BMX Bike. Brands, names, colours and custom parts don't really matter. You could have a Panza custom 2 short complete but noone will pay the price for it even if they know what it is, all because of the market value for used bikes.

In future probably, but at the moment it's mostly just giving the bikes new life. Since I can't keep all of them, I try to find colours that would appeal to potential buyers after the restorations and rebuilds are done. I do appreciate the heads up though, I had no idea that these older bikes were that valuable 😅.

@@KamaarhKenn I don’t think it would do much since I don’t somebody has the means or desire to restore it to stock , but since it will always technically be a Sunday Funday you could still try advertising it as one and put before and after pictures, maybe it’ll inspire somebody to buy it, even if it’s more just for the name, don’t ask me though
I hope to get bmx. Do you have one you don't want?
