Abandoned Six Wheeled Skidsteer! Sitting for 15 Years! Will It Run?!?

The local museum has had this 1213 Bobcat "Feller Buncher" skidsteer in their posession for 15 years. With the collapse of the roof on the building it was stored in this winter, it needs to be moved to a new home for the time being. Lets see if we can get it to run once again. This machine is not for sale. As always, thanks for watching!

This is a Swedish invention! Everyone who watch this video, with the Bobcat fellerbuncher 1213, should know this!! This is a Swedish invention, wich begans in the early 1980:s. Maybe 1982-1983 or something. I say this because I really know it!! I was an employee at the Swedish dealer for Bobcat, Lastor AB, in Sweden, up to 1990. I have been working severly years for introducing Bobcat in Sweden, from the middle of 1970:s. I'am very proud of this. It was as a really hard work to convince machineowners, farmers etc, that a Bobcat would be grateful for their business. But i'm driving my old Bobcat 443 to help my costumers, it stills works fantatic, and at my age of 70+. This invention, on the six wheeld Bobcat, started with one of our boss for the comnpay in Sweden, who was traveling over to USA, to visit the Bobcat Company in North Dakota. He found out that in USA , they use the concept with fellerbuncher. But with bigger machines. Why not with a Bobcat? Ok, back in Sweden , he gave the order to create a sixwheeled Bobcat, and in that time based on a Bobcat 743. The front axle with a boogie drived, by a chaincase and the rear axle was also put backwards, with a chaincase, and a pendulumarm to put the rear axleheigth, up and down. I have seen this sixwheeld Bobcat, built in Sweden with my own eyes, unfortunately , I have no picture and can not prove it, but I have it in my mind. This is a Swedish invention by the Swedish dealer for Bobcat, Lastor AB. Furthermore the Bobcat Company in USA did accept the id'e and start to produce it. It was in 1985-1986. The Swedish dealer, Lastor AB, imported the Bobcat 1213 fellerbuncher, around 1987, i think. I have seen it, with my own eyes. Bobcat Company in USA , did base the Bobcat 1213, on Bobcat 843 wih an Isuzu 4-cyl engine. I'm a big fan of Bobcat. I've been living with Bobcat since the middle of 1970:s and still doing it, in my age of 70+, and will do it to my end of life. Magnus Ericson, Sweden

I actually do a good bit of work up at the Doosan facility in NC. They do final assembly of Bobcat skid steers, minis and sub compact tractors up there. They are more or less doing the final touches on a 70ish million dollar addon to that facility right now. I go up there to work on any CAT engines they have troubles with after assembly in new air compressors, or if they have any issues with refurbished units they build up there.

It's a cool skid steer. You would think it would tip over with a big tree hanging out front. I seen big ones but not a small skid steer cut trees. Thanks for sharing 👍🇺🇸

They were designed for cutting pretty small tress. Many years ago I can recall seeing on a Christmas tree farm.

The forestry package they offered has a hydraulic system that operated the rear axle to steady it while working up and down hill. They were based off the 843 models of the 80s. They were made in 1985 and 86.

those locking pliers defiantly used to be military. They put that code on there to track them in a computer system so when you are done with your tools at the end of the day they can be accounted for after you turn them back in to the tool custodians.

Pike lumber in northern Indiana had a few of these. One had an orchard attachment to shake fruit out of trees. They were orange and mid 80's in age. They look pretty cool decked out with the roof a/c and Kraco tape deck.. lolol

That was a great Mortske Wednesday . I now as much about Bob Cat as I did before but tha's OK As I will never have work on or with one . With my limited box of crayons I have still to find the key hole in my bicycle,( insert laughter here ) . Until next time , keep your pencil sharp , and stay away from too much sun ( It'll ruin your farmer tan ) Stuart in Ontario...........................
