Awesome! You were part of the history.

You hit the nail on the head. Pontiac had just started to get things right but it was too late and they weren't in the budget. The poorly made cars during the late 90s and early 2000s really led to Pontiac and GMs decline.

The other thing that really got GM i feel was the fact that they constantly practiced “badge engineering” with their cars. Instead of actually making a unique product or two for each brand, they just literally copy-paste the same car 3-5 times over and call it a day (ex. an Oldsmobile Alero is a Pontiac Grand Am).

Instant classic car! Shame it only lasted 2 model years…

Extremely unfortunate that Pontiac is no longer around and the dealership is in the condition that it’s in I truly appreciate the video. Ps the second building by where you parked was a used car building

I have always been amazed that this property was never redeveloped. It is in a prime location.

I haven’t been back to campus and Lansing in awhile now, so it’d be interesting to see what’s changed there.

Thanks for documenting. The larger building has been demolished for new development, but the smaller one still stands, unchanged since your visit.

i had a 1992 pontiac grand prix coupe i loved that car.

Story was last name of the Oldsmobile dealer 1/2 mile or so from there back in the day. Bought my first new car there. 1977 Sunbird...Time waits for no one...Pontiac was something back in the 60's. First car a 67 Firebird when I was 16. Cherry car...ah memories.

I have a red 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. It’s sad that they stop making those cars and the company went bankrupt.

I need that decal on the door we build excitement Pontiac my brother has a 1983 Pontiac 6000STE and loves it so the we build excitement is true because that car always put a smile on his face it’s just a fun car to drive

Probably their best/most memorable slogan for sure.

I've had 3 GrandAms, 2 Orange 04s and an o3 in silver I bought with 75,000 miles in 2019

This was sad to say the least, but I have always loved The Pontiac Brand! I currently have five Pontiacs, some classic, G.TO.,Trans Am, Grand Am, two Gran Prixs! All great cars!

I wish they were still around! My mom and aunt used to drive nothing but Pontiac’s. I also had a 10’ G6 GT w/all options and it was such a good car. My moms owned like 3 grand-ams, a 2000 firebird, 2003 bonneville, and 2008 torrent gxp. All good vehicles torrent gxp I’d love to see what would be today as well as G6 & G8.

I wanted a G6 as my first car! Always thought they were so sharp. I ended up with a Saturn Aura - essentially the same vehicle riding on the same platform as the G6, also a sharp car (and also from a now-dead, once popular GM brand).

When is an address for the abandoned Pontiac dealership.

Right . pontiac shouldve survived!! A new grand am would be cool! Cool video.

It's not GOODRICH. It's GOODWRENCH

It was gm poor leaderships that made Pontiac, Saturn,years earlier in 2004 they kill Oldsmobile three different divisions was great 👍. Bad pay too much money for Hummer. Waste lots money into others division like chevrolet and cadillac they all division was kill Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Saturn. Only division that I like still live Buick and Gmc . BUICK, GMC, PONTIAC, OLDSMOBILE AND SATURN IS BEST VEHICLES.
