Seeing abandoned houses with valuables and personal things left just remind me to not collect so much things but collect good memories with the people that I love in my everyday life while I'm still living.

It's like the house is waiting for its owners to come home. The story of the son/pilot and his mother is just so very, very sad. Can you imagine the unbearable heartache she suffered until the end of her days that she asked her son to take flight in his plane again and that killed him. It's just tragic. Here is my guess for this house. The last person who owned it was elderly and probably a female. The person who took care of her is the one who had the tv. The elderly woman lived her final days there and hopefully was well cared for. My point is no matter how much money you have, we all go through the same door at the end and I truly hope her carer loved her and helped her with lots of love. I speak from first hand experience and only hope we all have love especially at our end.

The fact that this is so clean after being abandoned is unreal. The carpet is called sculpted carpet. It couldn’t have been abandoned for too long with the Vizio tv box, someone was definitely keeping it up. The kitchen is circa 1960’s and looks like bedrooms and other downstairs rooms had been renovated not long before it was abandoned (white walls not yellowed badly). Great home just left for time to eat up. You know when you take the life out of a house it really does begin to die. How sad, you can tell this home was well loved as were the people once living here.😢

Gosh. For some reason- watching the explore of this house gave me SO MUCH anxiety. It’s so beautifully frozen in time. I feel physical agony at the thought of vandals destroying this home. I wish, I wish, I wish- someone even if this wasn’t their house that would keep up gardening/landscaping and cleaning of the home so maybe it’ll trick vandals into thinking the home was occupied so they stay away. 😭 this home FEELS like a home. Hurts to think that it could be destroyed by disrespectful people at any time.

@@JG-sq7itgood call. It's sad but you just don't know. People don't have respect for things anymore. There was a farmhouse up the road where we lived. As young kids and teenagers we would spend hours cleaning it up and then spend a weekend there. That was common with the kids in the area. Not one thing was stolen or damaged. After college I went back to just pay a visit. My parents having moved two years earlier. I was devastated to see every window broken and nothing was left either stolen or broken. All the walls were full of holes and the beautiful railings that we loved to see all polished up. We're broken and used for firewood in the fireplace. That house was special to a lot of people. And just a few criminals destroyed it. I'd never reveal the location either. It's just not worth the risk.

Those children’s portraits were very popular styles of portraiture for children growing up in the late 50s and early 60s. I know because I was born in 1962 and I had a wealthy friend who had pictures of herself like this throughout her parents house. Also, I think it’s very interesting to note that a professor and a teacher were able to live in such style. Back in the days professors were paid, handsomely for their knowledge and responsibility of passing their intellect along to future generations. Now several friends of minor professors, and they literally can barely survive. Tenure is much more difficult to come by, and pay is nowhere near what it once was. Professors used to make approximately what doctors did.

I don't buy for a minute that this house was abandoned for nearly as long as being proposed. The master bedroom had fairly recent home health care items and the microwave was very recent. The TV box was very recent. My guess is that the last owner was infirmed and had a home health care person living there. Hence the place where the TV sat and a satellite receiver relatively near the bedroom. I'm guessing they had a housekeeper because there's not nearly enough dust to have been empty for a lengthy period. The laundry detergent package was VERY recent.

I loved that house. It is so perfect for a family. If I knew where the owners are I would try to get it for my family to restore the love that it is lonely for. And the fact that Alice is still caring for it is beautiful. I lived in a house like that for 12 years. It was sold and we had to move. We had no trouble with the last owner once he saw we were fixing it back up. We moved in with no windows or doors. There was plants drying all through the house. Dudn't know then what they were then ( but I do now) my Mom and I piled them up outside and burned them. Bet the whole neighborhood as happy for a while. I love the way you take time with these. And always put things back where they were. I'm 73 now and miss old houses like these. Thank you.

It’s great to see a beautiful house that hasn’t been vandalized. I can tell you why people walk away. It’s a lot of work to clean out a house and sell stuff. It’s also emotionally taxing. Maybe the person didn’t have anyone to help, and she couldn’t do it alone. The beautiful furniture isn’t worth much compared to the cost, time, and trouble to move it, etc. it’s much easier to walk away.

I live 7 hours from where the house was and traveled back and forth every weekend until the work was done. It's a lot of work and heartbreaking. My brother and I did all the work, my other brothers emotionally couldn't handle it. I took home with me more than I should have and tried to talk relatives into taking stuff, its tough parting with sentimental things. The saddest part is a contractor purchased the home and demolished it to build a bigger more modern one.

Another excellent job, Sir! I appreciate how respectful and enthusiastic you are during your explorations. It really reminded me of my grandmothers’ and parent’s house (ours on a smaller scale) because of all the antiques and the time period in which the house was built. If I’m right, the house was built around 1964ish based on the floors, carpet, bathrooms, and kitchen cabinets. Because you asked, I thought I’d share the names of some of the items you were unsure about: the carpet in the formal living room is called “sculpted carpet” - we had that in our living room as did everyone else I knew. The kit you found in the door that popped out is called a men’s “Dopp kit” or toiletry kit. The door probably opened because of the weight on the floor as you approached lessening the friction just enough to open - happened all the time with similar chests - you have to lock it with the key if you want it to stay closed. The fabric doll at the top of the stairs is called a “Raggedy Ann” doll - very popular back in the day - when it didn’t seem so creepy as it just did now.. Thanks again for sending me down Memory Lane!

Is this what the Bible refers to as Vanity?

Very fortunate that no one has trashed the place or squatted in it. The floors are gorgeous, the furniture is beautiful & some of it is definitely French Provençal. What an amazing house. I hope someone can buy it & save it. Wonderful tour & thank you for being so respectful that you didn’t touch the wedding dress in the chest that both mother & daughter had worn.

I worry that now that a light has been put on this place like this, someone might come and trash it. I hope not.

@@kristinefaulkner6035that is the problem. These guys expose these houses. Over 2 mil views. With too much info given. One could figure out where this is if they wanted to.

It's refreshing to know how much you appreciate and respect old things. The furniture has to be worth a lot. The wood flooring and walls are amazing.

Unfortunately there is almost no market for that kind of furniture these days. My dad appreciated it and has saved some he came across over the years. He thought it would help him financially in his old age and is very disappointed that he can't even give it away. Hopefully the time will come when it is appreciated and sought after again, but that probably won't be in his life. He's 93 now.

This must be the warmest abandoned house I've seen so far, in amazing condition. One thing though, was I the only one who was praying for someone to straighten up that painting? lol - thank you for your videos!

The double wedding ring quilt on the bed that wasn't quite made up was a true treat for me to see. My grandmother made mine for my wedding 30 + years ago. It was definitely hand stitched probably by the owner and it was beautiful!

I seriously did not want this to end. What an amazing house with so many beautiful pieces inside it! So sad that no descendants of the family have claimed anything & just let it all sit there wasting away. The house seems to have a happy, lived in feel to it, I can imagine the children playing in that little playroom upstairs. Is the little boy in the picture the pilot who died in the crash I wonder? Was it his toiletry bag in the cupboard that swung open? So very sad. I truly hope this house & it's contents can be saved in some way. I really like how you were so respectful of the property. Would love to see some pics of this house in it's heyday.

Someone must still own this home and somewhat keeps it up or it would not look anywhere near this good. It’s just wonderful! Thanks for respecting everything here.

This house is #2 behind the $80,000,000 mansion you explored with all the furnishings and sculptures intact with the time capsules built in. Absolutely stunning! Thank you again for being such a wonderful person and respectful explorer. You remind me of Adam Mark and Steve Ronin (my other favorite explorers). Maybe you three could get together and explore. That would be awesome because you all are super respectful and kind individuals. Great job! Thank again I love your channel!

So beautiful, interior reminds me of my grand aunt's lovely home. Do nostalgic and lovely! How very sad that such a lovely place is abandoned. Is there no collector that can use these places and items instead of them decaying away?

My cousins (who passed away) were piano tuners. The reason the keys don’t play is the humidity, heat, and dust. It would need to be cleaned and tuned to play. Possibly restrung also. It is sad to see things like this just sitting there to rot away.😢
