I'm not sure, I haven't heard of such a bunker being here ever. There are some bunkers near me and one in the very same town, but as far as I am aware, it was only for telecommunication and/or spying in soviet times. I feel that if there was one as well preserved as this one, I would have at least heard something about it.

Shiey himself never discloses these infos. People do some spywork and then out the locations. Not his fault.

BTR would be perfect for a nuclear facility. They all have positive pressure cabins, filters for the air intakes, and things like that, and several variants have (they're still in service) radiation detection and classification equipment. Plus they are extremely rugged, amphibious, and in the USSR spare parts were plentiful.

That picture of the big V16 diesel generator brought back some memories for me, years ago ended up on a project to rebuild a diesel about that size years ago, though it wasn't a generator in the same sense as those in a nuclear facility, the one I worked on was a tug boat engine/main generator. Marine powerplants are absurdly large, the one I did was small being about that size, but none the less seeing that picture brought back memories standing next to that thing going "crap what did I get signed up for, I'm a small engine tech"

Oh man, those seatbelts-built-into-doors are actual death traps. That's probably the most dangerous thing in his whole video. If the car door got dislodged or hit with a lot of force in an accident, the seatbelt would just decapitate the driver. Otherwise minor car accidents became lethal thanks to those car doors with seatbelts in them. Horrifying stuff.

The blue car at the beginning of the video has hand controls for someone who's disabled and can't use foot pedals.

Having vehicles in your bunker is mostly a good idea, the issue is that vehicles can't sit long and be expected to work. The oil, and gasoline collects water from the air over time and gasoline basically breaks down into a sludge in a very brief period of time. You need stabilizers for even just a year so these vehicles would need to run dry at least once a year. It's really hard to save a vehicle once it's sat for more than 3-5 years. Most of the lines in it will be full or gunk and the metal lines may rust out from water absorption.

Diesel vehicles like a few of the ones shown however would be relatively fine for long term storage, It's often even preferable to have them stored filled to prevent rust. I've run equipment with 20 year old diesel that didn't care in the slightest. Newer injector systems with their tight tolerances of course however wouldn't be too happy with it but that's about it.

Modern military Vehicles would usually have whats called NBC or nuclear biological chemical to protect them from the hazards like bio or nuclear fall out or chemical weapons

The headphones plug he unplugged isn't actually abnormally big. Instead of the common 3.5mm most devices use today that's a quarter inch plug. Most audio equipment and audiophile grade gear still use it. It's exactly identical to 3.5mm it's just far less likely to break or bend. For audio equipment it's far more popular for equipment that gets constantly plugged and unplugged.

Please watch and do more reactions. More of his bunker videos, one of them actually has working stuff unlike just the lights.

Their inventory either trickled in over time or was brought in from some storage facility. Two different dates wouldn't be crazy.

It still is really awesome that the bunker is still in such condition knowing it was requirment for bunkers to last a long time.

That's absolutely wild about the fire brigade in a nuclear power plant. I guess in a way it does make sense, but I had never really thought about it before.

Notice how well the Chevy held up much better than the Russian cars. Interior was still in tact. Wouldn’t surprise me if it started.

Gosh, I love this so much. I desperately want to build a fallout shelter (if I ever have that kind of money 😅) not because I'm paranoid about nuclear attack (although I may be near a target), but because I love atomic age history. Plus I live in an area with tornadoes and a fallout shelter tends to be formidable enough to protect from tornadoes as well. How cool would it be to have a fallout shelter! I'd have to consider how many people I brag about it to, but I would want to tell everyone because it's so cool. 😂 Awesome shelter. I love seeing these videos. Thanks so much for reviewing one, @T. Just curious since clothing will block alpha and beta particles would a KN-95/N-95 shield your mouth and nose from those particles or do you have to use “heavier” materials to protect yourself from them.

The BTR was likely an nuclear, biological and chemical recon variant, with specialized measurement and decon equipment aboard. The Soviets did have some whiz bang decon and survey equipment that literally was way more advanced than US equipment in the 1970's and early 1980's. Their protective garments were impermeable, downside being they were hotter than a two dollar pistol to wear. Then, there was the Chernobyl response, ignoring the hell out of doctrine and equipment... Took a lesson from the US, I guess... ;) An old US Civil Defense shelter would leave the average US citizen crapping themselves, primitive beyond belief and entirely unrealistic once hydrogen bombs were a thing.

BRDM not a BTR. There are several BRDM models made for NBC work.

You should review the proper people's channel they have several abandoned nuclear power plants explored on their channel. Would be nice to have your insight on some of the equipment in their videos...

I think the bunker is soviet or country that use to be apart of the 'union in terms of design, including the many cars like the fire truck and writing on the walls etc also that diesel generator did have a exhaust if you look at the strange Y shaped upside down piping

Hey folse The BTR is a APC design to carry troops into battle it was designed by the so'viet union during the cold war also that armored vehicle in the bunker was not a BTR because it has 8 not 4 wheels and much larger

That is a BRDM, a reconnaissance vehicle. Though I suppose on the facility like this it would be outfitted with some more appropriate equipment.

Iv mentioned this a few times but I'd love to hear you're thoughts on galen winson (the man who eats uranium)???

Today one of my classmates said an example of how to change ones DNA, and said "roll around in uranium to get mutations". I was fast pointing out that radioactivity doesn't give random mutations just rather destroys/damages the DNA.

well, that's random mutations. Just not the kind you want :) Got a very good friend who's a direct line descendant of survivors of the Hiroshima bombing. Her parents gave her several mutations, some harmless, others not so much. Like 2 sets of genitals (harmless, just sometimes cumbersome), but also a very high risk of various forms of cancer (at age 54 she's already survived 3 bouts of various cancers) and recurring large cysts on her central nervous system (very painful, but easy to treat).

You should invest in some bikes at your nuclear plants. Bikes are more reliable than fuel driven vehicles and don't require fuel or as much maintenance. They also offer health benefits and don't pollute the environment beyond production and decommission. They are also much cheaper.

Like you say in the beginning, I think this looks computer generated. I think the video you're reacting to is fake.
