Most likely the mansion was converted into Apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floor at one point to help maintain the mansion and its previous owner. Not sure why the mansion is sitting abandoned today but at some point, itmust have been a grand home to live in. The reason vandals will rip out the walls is for the expensive copper wiring and pipes that these older homes have in them. Most likely the appliances were stolen too. What a shame this beautiful property is being left to rot and be destroyed. What a great find though... thanks for showing it to us.

I would love to get my hands on this place, if I had the money! It would be great to renovate this mansion!

I'm assuming the neighbours do the yard work so not too much attention gets drawn to it being empty? It must be Un nerving having such a huge empty property on your street.

Beautiful home! You did a great job videoing. I saw in the comments this home sold. I'm glad someone bought it and that it won't just keep sitting there decaying and being torn down by vandals.

As you may know - shortly after you published this video - the house sold for $534,900. They had trouble turning it over because utility and maintenance costs are $10k-$25k per month.

I agree, good shot. Most people are aware enough to realize a couple thousand dollar camera usually doesn't equal tagger/copper thief. (Also the rental RV $100K+ not ideal for copper hauling/ unaffordable for mentally ill taggers). Old man was an idiot. Definitely off his meds. He's just lucky he hasn't dealt with any real criminals yet.

That mansion was recently re-listed on the market...found the listing online. It can be yours for only $800,000 (lol). I think the bank finally caught wind that people were going in it. I only live about 2 hours away and have explored it myself.

That house was foreclosed, sold 9 days after you posted this video for $524,900! On the listing it says a US president visited it, but didn't say who. It also said one condo had "water damage".

Jon from Exploration Unknown has filmed this Mansion many times and knows the History of the Butcher Family, who built the house. Mr Butcher just died recently and this property has finally been sold. Jon is in contact with the New Owners or the Bank. When the Bank first seized the house, they attempted to redo the upstairs into individual apartments , that is why there are 3 kitchens upstairs. The idea was short lived as they were not able to successfully lease them.

Why'd you feel the need to flip off the guy for telling you to leave? You're trespassing and he coulda just called the po po to come get you, probably with a fine as well. It was a higher risk location as the lawn was being maintained at least. It took me a minute to figure out they must've removed the drywall because it had wallpaper on it. I hate that shit too.

I always enjoy your videos. Impresses me that you are truly doing exploring without the destruction that can go with that. You probably have the best quality videos of most anyone out here. I realize you have invested a lot of money in your cameras and lighting, and it shows. The still photos Kristy takes look like studio photos taken by ultra professional photographers. You surely enjoy it. I wouldn't have the guts to go and explore by myself, but I would love to do it. Love the mystique of old and abandoned buildings!! Thanks for the great vids!!

hey guys I really like what I've watched, haven't seen them all, I'm 45 and I used to explore places like that,..well the old Koch hospital in st.Louis Mo. say 1988 yeah long time ago 8th grade ...its torn down but anyway..some people that has never explored before especially travel , staying accomadations, and then to have some old man to pull up on me to tell me to leave ..when nothing was stolen or vandalised ..makes me want to set up shop on that old mans dinner table ..and really find out what's up

Everything looks like it could be restored, way better than most abandoned homes I have seen.. while everything still adds up; most looks decent!

Yeah, John's been there a couple of times, never ran into anyone; so maybe since kids are trashing the place more and more, there's now someone keeping a close eye on it.

It's not real, because a phone left off the hook indefinitely doesn't sound a dial tone, it sounds a reorder tone (the loud beeping that reminds you that it's off the hook).

Nice vid, Robb. I was impressed with the detail of this place, also. The staircase is done well, the wood molding, and the wooden flooring, it was a really nice place, sad to see it sit like that. But, it's probably either too expensive for most people or it can't legally be sold...yet, anyway. Who knows...because it is said the owner went to prison for fraud or something, so it may not be able to be sold.

Seems to me some people are building these mansions and Can NOT afford it ! To bad , be Happy with a smaller place to live.DO NOT need to keep up with the Jones ....Peace !

That’s the same house some KZread explores went to go see. I noticed it because of the bar that has the star circle painted on the mirror.

The servants quarters usually is in older houses. Maybe early 19th century and back. Not typical to have live ins in the 80s

Who ever it belongs to must still be paying someone to keep the garden and pool area clean and weed free, also the front is immaculate and so pretty.

Someone else explored that mansion and said it used to be a family's mansion then it was bought and supposed to be split into apartments but never was finished

anybody else notice at the 10min mark? he walks past the open door leading to unfinished attic room, then checks a closet out. if you look over his shoulder the door is closing and then shuts.

Asian family quarters. Different family members and servants. It always gets me when I see a phone still in operation.

The Mansion was purchased buy investors and were in the process of converting the upstairs and other parts of it into apartments, but ran out of money it got to expensive and aborted the project!!

The second floor wall strip might have been beginning of a Reno and needed to run some pipes for water I’ve done heaps of things like that plastering
