    Blood does not stay that red, looks like someone splattered red paint around to give creepy feel. Real blood would be brown. Cool place, too bad folks can't just look around, never understood the needs to smash windows or destroy something just cuz it's abandoned.

    some of it was paint(the really red stuff)...but the carpet going up the stairs was real blood and so was the carpets upstairs. Also the mattress in that garage was full of blood stains.

    I was referring to the bright red stains, however, since ya brought the other stains up, how do you know, did you have it tested? There is no way of saying a stain on an old mattress or carpet is blood from a video nor really in person with out a test. Could be other bodily fluids, pop, mud and various other things. The scratches on the door, I would assume is from training a K9 unit, since they said it is used for Police training.

    Just did a quick Google search on this property... It was bought for $800K in Sept. 2017. Hopefully that means someone is going to fix it up. It's got 40 rooms, 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. It would make a beautiful B&B or Inn.

    MrDavenez, Once government has possesion there's no motivation to do anything with it. It's no one's responsibility or department, falls into a gray area. No one would benefit from the sale, it would cause more trouble to determine who keeps the money from the sale. [Probably cost money to study who it should go to] Govt employees are not known for going above & beyond their duties. ..it's heartbreaking to witness. It's also to be expected from a government that's too large for its own good. Edit: I agree with your idea.

    Update for anyone who is curious: Jake Butcher died in July 2017 at the age of 81. He'd been out of prison for a number of years at that point. The house was so massive that upkeep and utilities for it were estimated to be over $20,000 every month- not sure if this refers to back in the 80s or what it would cost currently. It sold for $799,000 in Sept 2017. The listing claimed it had been converted into 5 luxury condos, but it sure doesn't look like it in this video or in the Zillow link. www.zillow.com/homedetails/180-Whirlwind-Clinton-TN-37716/2110558103_zpid/

    This home was most likely purchased for the back taxes by then local police department. Due to the HOME'S size and massive layout it provides a perfect training site. Still, for a home that has been left alone, this property is in truly tremendous condition. I have seen homes left empty that in less then a week have been reduced to studs and ruble. There are obviously neighbors nearby and this has prevented a full on destruction of the home. Any area, anywhere in this country has residents who lack respect and any sort of decency towards others and these same people thrive on destruction. Still, this property is clearly not fully 'abandoned'.

I lived in the 80s as well and I miss the glamout sparkle shine and happiness that seemed to be everywhere. Movie stars WERE because they. deserved it and Singers/musicians had to be able to SING and WRITE not be porn stars and supermodels w electronic voice overs to be successful. Wendy Pippin-Yarberry actually you’re wrong there. That was an option. The cost to tear it down is not worth it, unless a MUCH smaller home were built. The thing is it has good bones, just needs someone with lots of money. I can only hope the new owners have enough. Also, “the land” was subdivided. The river view, not so much due to the houses built in front of it.

    Sharon Looney I totally agree with you, but teenagers and salvagers don’t care about that. Which is fair enough I guess. If I found a nice table or lighting fixture or anything that I would appreciate myself, I’d take it as long as nobody else is appreciating it. That’s why I love finding old abandoned homes. If the owners are nonexistent, and there’s a nice antique radio, television, war bring-back, bottle, etc, I’m rescuing that. It’s not worth leaving it for an owner who doesn’t care about it just because it’s technically “their property” while they live in a town over in their middle class home. Plus, you’d be surprised how often you can track down the original owners who had to abandon it, or their family at least. I’ve returned family photos, diplomas, heirlooms, books, jewelry, and even an entire project- motorcycle the guy was building in the 70s when he was subsequently forced from his home. He’s since finished the bike he started 50 years ago.

    Not likely. There would have been blood stains left on the plaster if they had been punched in. Also, the holes are too big and too rounded to have been made with a fist. There’s also a piece of plaster that was neatly cut out behind one of the holes. The holes were obviously neatly cut with some kind of tool.

  • @susaneanderson7522

    @susaneanderson7522

    4 жыл бұрын

    spy4863 some of the holes were probably done by inspectors checking for mold between the walls. The others were from vandals. Here’s the problem with this property. It costs $25,000 monthly for utilities alone. The basement was full of mold, and the person who purchased the property did get a “deal”, but they will never be able to get the home back to what it once was. That’s just talking about repairing the interior. The other problem is the single pane windows. The utility bill could be reduced some if they were replaced, but again, huge expense. The pool is ruined and will need completely replaced, and the acreage it sat on has been subdivided. Several homes were built between Whirlwind and the river, and several trees hide the view now. I drive past the home every day on my way to work, and it’s heartbreaking to see the shape it’s in. Oh, all the “claws and blood”...that’s nonsense. There is not, nor has there ever been any “activity” there. The damage was done by punks breaking in to trash the place. The “blood” is stage blood and the claw marks on the door was probably from k-9’s during SWAT training and thanks to the morons who busted the windows I’m sure there is some wildlife that gets in.

  • @spy4863

    @spy4863

    Right! Such a shame! Such beautiful pieces of history and then morons have to to come along and destroy it. Although to be fair the house may have already been beyond repair from mold and neglect before the vandals got to it. Do you think so? Either way, it’s such a shame that people would let such a beautiful place fall into disrepair, although, to be fair, maybe they just didn’t have the money for the upkeep. Thanks for the info!

No joke. (Show that video to your nearest real estate broker if you don't believe me) You can't buy a good used car for that. A 5 year old pickup in good condition will cost you 15 to $20,000. You wouldn't be able to fix the bidèt in the bathroom for $5 to $10 grand.. (a bidèt btw is what that silly looking toilet w no lid beside the toilet is called) It's not your post that bothers me so much, as the 23 thumbs up you got. Seriously, 23 people aren't all teenagers. Teenagers are still being taught. The adults who think what you said has any basis in reality have no excuse to be ignorant. Good title. The only thing the title is missing is the word "poo." If there were blood stains, claw marks and poo, you would have 1 million views easy. And...excellent video as always.
