    We just found out that the graves we found in the woods are actually in Phelps County, Missouri and there used to be a sign that read, Boulware Cemetery so it was family's graves. There once was a really old sign there that just read "cemetery" but someone probably torn it down like the new. Vandalism causes the loss of history. Please stop vandalism

    Back in the day, 183-70, it was: A) very much common to die before your 30's, and, family land plots had usually the option to get buried on your property (including extended family), so that would explain the 2nd cemetery.

    Also, the one on the road could not only belong to a woman suspected of witchcraft, but also to any woman who was in some way "unfaithful" (like commiting a severe crime or being involved in an affair with another man that wasn't her husband, etc. sounds weir, but things were different back then)

    You have a very good point there. I know for a fact that in the state of Missouri there was no law that required a birth or death certificate until 1910. My ancestors from the 1800s and early 1900s were buried in a family plot on land they owned. The cemetery is still there but no longer owned by any of my family. I still stand behind my believe that there were rocks from an old home foundation and probably a small family plot of graves that we found. Thanks for watching and commenting. See ya next video. Until then stay jagged, my friend. 😊😊

    This is very interesting. I did not know a woman would be buried the same rather she was a witch, committed adultery or a criminal. Yes things were different then but also interesting as He!!...😂🤣🤣

    It is always sad to me that there are those who are so thoughtless and rather destroy that be productive. Cemeteries are a place of beauty and place to remember those from our past. Thanks for watching. Until the next video, stay jagged my friend. 😊🌹

    She died in the winter & was buried on the family property. That's the only reason for the shallow grave outside the graveyard. She still has descendents in the area. Remember to those who visit, that's the memorial to someone's great grandmother. Please show respect.

    Mark Twain Forest was donated to the state but anyone who lived there was grandfathered in until the original homesteaders died out. And they were allowed to vury the dead on their land. If you are ever in the Guthrie MO area, there is a part of MTF that has a campground that is dedicated to horseback campers. In between some of the campsites, my husband discovered a headstone of a boy who died at 10 years old

  • @JaggedThings

    @JaggedThings

    Oh that is interesting 😁 and strange that a ten year old boy would be buried all alone like that. Hmm...I'm intrigued. We will check that out. We roam all over the Midwest (and beyond) and it helps to know what to look for so we appreciate suggestions. Until the next video, stay jagged my friend.

    Thanks for watching! Yes, but not the Mayfield one, only the witches' grave because it was the coolest. We have a video up on a cemetery in Savannah we visited at night, however, we had to film from behind a fence. The cemeteries there close up at 8:00, all are fenced. We will probably be making future videos where we visit cemeteries at night from time to time. Hope you continue to watch. See ya next video. Until then, stay jagged, my friend. 😊🤗

    The upside down cross has nothing 2 do with witchcraft; when St Peter was executed it was ordered by the Roman Emperor Nero, who blamed the city's Christians for a terrible fire that had ravaged Rome. Peter requested to be crucified upside down, as he felt unworthy to die in the same manner as Christ.

    We saw the witch’s grave today in fact. It has an upside down cross painted on the tree next to it. Superstition says you have to leave a gift if you visit the grave site or you will be cursed. I don’t believe all that but it’s interesting folklore.

Grave on the side of the road iam not exactly sure what part of the forest you entered from but it's on the devil's elbow side and there's a grave of a woman who was on the wagon train who died there I know once you get to the T and go left it's down that way on the right side if you take the Devil's elbow side and enter and go all the way to the T
