Abandoned for 67 YEARS WW2 Bunker lies Forgotten

--------- Please Subscribe for new video every Friday 10AM! ----------
This historical documentary series was filmed some time ago!
The tunnels today are now locked and are not accessible to the public!
This week we are exploring the forgotten underground accommodation bunker complex thats not been used since it was sealed in the early 1950s.
This was part of the southeast coastal battery defence network, and these tunnels are one of many built in this area as protected underground accommodation.

Amazing work. Two things that I found interesting. One, did that soldier essentially say 'what a waste to demolish this house I could take it home?' Second, just watching as you walking through the tunnels no cabling at all. Nothing for electricity, no mounts for light bulbs, or telephones. Stripped by looters or the military? I just thought it odd. Thank you for the adventures :)

They are doing well considering the age of them, not sure if you guys know or did read the message I left you, if you have sky TV, channel 343, has been showing lots of short war time documentrary from ww2 from Dover, and a few other coastal towns, they are about 15-20 min long, shows guns long the coast and lots of other stuff you may find interesting, Keep up the great work.

Looks like it was lined against the damp by roofing felt. As to the painting, the army used to say "if it moves, salute it. If it doesn't, paint it! Keeps the lads busy during the long quiet periods. I would imagine that there was a lot of ammunition stored down their safely out of the way. Could the unlined portion just be an emergency escape?

Great vid again guys, that black stuff looks like the tar stuff I found under the roof of our old garage when we pulled it down. The garage was built in the 50s so it maybe some kind of water or moisture barrier and was quite brittle with age. It may have been used down there as a quick way to cover the walls, I maybe wrong . All the best guys.

That 1950 graffiti interesting, but I learned everyone ought write plainly or print, as really hard to see what they meant to say. They didn't see the value of the tunnels, but probably a young person exploring back in the day. I think these dry tunnels are fabulous. Lasting such a long time.

Pretty stable tunnels as things go. Chalk is a nice material to work with in tunnels, i mean, you could bore out oversize, and then lay in pressurized concrete and voila, tunnels done years in what would take decades in other materials.

Hopefully the partials in the air are not Asbestos. Asbestos was widely used as thermal lagging on pipes mostly in engine rooms and as asbestos cement sheeting which was very common. This may not be correct but i suspect the air borne particles seen in the video maybe zinc oxide from the galvanized sheets used to line the tunnel. Zinc oxide is a fine white power. Not sure of the health risks in your case but when welding galvanized material if you breath too much zinc you can get whats know as zinc fever en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_fume_fever Thanks for your great videos.

Think the graffiti relates to a disgruntled holiday maker. B Garfits (?) from 36 Butler Crescent in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire He's in the tunnel fed up on the 12th Nov 1950.. He says that St. Margaret's Bay (is this a Hotel/Holiday camp?) is a one horse joint and if it belonged to him he would pay Jonesy(?) to demolish it. Clearly having a good time down Dover then.....

It's a shame that all of these bunkers and complexes are just rotting away, investing some time and effort into repairing and or fully rebuilding these would make them once more amazing and of actuall use. if civil strife ever happened these bunkers would be choice to hide out in until everything blows away. Great work as always guys.

this is my first time commenting on your videos, I love how you are actually taking care of the places you enter. however I watch a certain channel the other night and it disguisted me because the man and his little girl busted their way into a German bunker. I personally don't think that is right which is why I love watching your videos because " if the door is locked we don't go In no matter what" keep up the good work and please don't ever become a disrespectful humanbeing

I know of which video you're talking and I agree to a certain point but what sort of value does it have if no one is allowed to see it? As I remember it was not a locked door it was sort of a big pipe that was walled off or something and he never revealed the location.
