I lowkey miss this old set, their original set. Those were the best days of corrie, the one now in Salford is pretty mint but the nostalgia in this one is amazing ugh. Great vid

I did the tour round this exact one not 2/3 years ago, it's amazing how much it's overgrown

The site was not effecive to maintain, was sold and is being redeveloped as hotels and apartments. The new Coronation Street set is 2 miles down the road at Media City, Salford Quays.

I've been watching old repeats of Corrie on ITV3 and it's sad to see the original set in such a state!

I remember being on this set back in the 90's when they used to do the Granada tours, such a shame to see it go like this considering this was the original set. I wonder also if the ghosts of past character actors haunt there too

KJ Acock crystal maze is in what used to be studio 2. They never filmed anything inside the buildings just the street and outside stuff. The main studio is now completely empty

The buildings are sets and are not actually habitable. Of course they could be made habitable but that would actually change the set because the dimensions would have to change for most of them. Not really worth it.

What's the point of going to the old Woolpack? It's just a pub that's open to the public, anyone can film it.

I went to the tour back in 1989 they even had a replica rovers return for tourists to have a pint..even Baldwins casuals factory stood where Gails house is now..i agree it seemed so tiny standing on that street to what it is on tv..thanks for the tour of abandoned set guys!

I’m surprised how much of it actually goes somewhere, as in internal rooms and upstairs and such, I thought it was all just front facades. Creepy as, tho. Nice one lads, very interesting, cheers.

Nah. I visited the set maybe 1990 ish. The houses themselves are tiny, and aren’t actually real. The rovers was the only building with an interior at the time - a bar, and enough space to seat 4 patrons. The interior sets make it look like they are of a decent size, but they are miniature.

I was there 2 yr ago, I think we accessed the street via the bistro, that’s where all the inside sets were. Huge Corrie fan so this was so surreal. Thanks lads, my favourite uk urbex so far....

mikeykm1993 The old studios were very old and needed a complete refurbishment, and the old set looked pretty shoddy when they started shooting in HD it was simply cheaper to build a new facility than update the old one.

Like on the old set if you went in a house it would be empty because it was just a street set and the rooms were in a different building all open. Thats what it was when I went to visit. The new set is a proper street with houses and they film inside them.

I don't watch soaps now but used to watch Corrie years ago,and went to here for the trip round when I was about 10 , so sad to see it like this now n to think all those actors been through n passed . Thankyou for respecting the place ,I had fears when I first started watching , respect lads x

I did the Granada studio tour many many years ago. They took you around the place showing you different sets to different films and TV programs, you finished the tour on the Coronation street set.

Class video lads, as behind the scenes as you can get! I had to actually google when Corrie moved set and seemingly they moved in 2013; you would think 15 to 20 years judging by this video

I visited Corrie once, about 10 years ago, watched them filming from a window in the Science Museum, and as luck would have it it was the day Status Quo were there, and I got a few snaps of Parfitt & Rossi walking down the street with Les Battersbey! I remember working on the roofs at MOSI looking at the tours, damn shame they've let it over grow like this and just go to waste, great video though lads, there's an old police station in bury that I'm sure you would like to explore, it's already been broke into so you will have to suss the entrance near the swimming pools car park
