This. Had a cat who kept coming in our house over and over. For extended times, then days. Even his walks outside became shorter. We didn't really decide to keep him, it just happened, and it was he who stayed. He wasn't feral (neutered), so our suspicion was that his previous owner abandonned him.

yea, some of us have been conditioned to "earn" love. Some dogs are abused and it's the same.

I love how every “not a cat person” finds a cat that’s “different”. Cats are complex, you’re just doing a good job. Every cat I’ve ever owned follows me like a dog and is incredibly sweet and playful. I’ve never been biten by a cat, or hissed at by any of mine.

This is true. You just need to know how to read a cat. My cat is 8 months old and I’ve raised him to be loving. My two crazy boys will grab him and hold him and he just lets them and never shows aggression. He follows me everywhere. He loves to cuddle and talk to you. He never hisses or swats at anyone even if he doesn’t know them. He’s nice to other animals. He’s amazing! He’s not like a dog. He’s a cat. If you know how to take care of a cat and understand them. You will have a loving feline

This exactly like how I met my cat ChaCha. But he first came up to me one night and I was suicidal and he just appeared and watched me till I stopped crying that night. He kept coming back as if he wanted me safe and to check on me. It’s a sappy story but it makes me tear up and smile every once and a while. I love it❤

the way the kitty would run but then pause and look back with such a hopeful expression, like “I really want to believe you’re gonna help me, not hurt me” broke my heart 🥺

I have 2 babies of my own and feed the outside kitties too! Right now I have a little girl that is super talkative and hungry! She is scared of other cats and looks like she got hurt bc her ear is torn (not tipped) Today I got her to come all the way inside but as soon as something moves she gets spooked and runs outside. Im hoping she gets used to coming in and doesn't try to eat my pet rats lol. I want to find her a home but I also don't want her to have to stay outside while I do so.

Loved seeing him sleeping in his new shelter. Thanks gor helping him!

This cat trained his human very well. From feeding to giving him shelter and finally turned him into his own personal matress. 😉

I think many "non cat people" often don't realise that cats really aren't the aloof independent animals that society has taught us to believe. I mean, they can be independent when they have to be, but most of them are very loving, cuddly, and talkative, and they do require interactive attention and play from their humans to trust and to truly shine. This wonderful man was so patient and kind with his sweet shy boy, and in return he gained this beautiful cat's lifelong love and devotion. ❤️ Cinnabun suits him, and his mannerisms and gentle nature reminds me so much of my cat, Corky, who's running free over the rainbow bridge.

Dude, I work for a landscaping company, and a couple years ago, during the end of the shift, our boss asked us to pick up a repaired edger from a repair shop. When I was there waiting, this little kitten walked up right on my steel toe boot. I asked about the kitten and the owners of the shop said I can take it if I want. I put the little kitten inside my lunchbox, we went back to the yard, I clocked out, and my kitty has been with me ever since, oh and she gave birth to 4 kittens. My nephew adopted one, and kept the rest. Now I have 4 lovely cats. These cats definitely intervene into our lives for a better purpose.

If the person who helped this cat ever goes through the comment section i hope you find this: May you and your cat be blessed with good health and ease in every aspect of life. Thank-you for having the kind, helping heart to save that cat.

I am soooo happy for both of you, 😊. Men who have compassion for animals, especially cats, are men who don't need to control. We women know it's a sign that you're a keeper. I have a male cat that became feral-like after being abandoned. We have a similar story. He's a big, fluffy Tuxedo. When he first came around, like yours, his hair was shorter, and he was thin. He'd eat 2 cans a night. Now he's really healthy, and with his hair growing in, very loving, and i think he's a Mainecoon. I think yours might be too. All that matters to me is he's safe in his Forever Home. May you both have many happy years together! 😊

when I never know what to watch, stories like this are perfect. I know it's cliché or whatever, but these videos of bite-size bits of goodness and heartwarmingness, particularly with animals, really do help get me through the day.

I dont think this is what happened. The cat wasnt choosing the guy. The guy provided food and shelter. Any cat can be domesticated this way. Anyone could have fed a cat every day, give it warm shelter and gain their trust. So anyone can be “chosen”.

Hi Hayley, my husband was not a cat person at all, until one day I rescued a baby kitten on side of a highway, he fell in love with Jack and they became best buddies. Jack has since passed and he grieved over him for a long time. Happy is having a cat around.😊🐱❤

At first the cat was looking for a meal and would always get scared away by the hooman staring at him by the window whe he eats but in time he must've started thinking to himself that the hooman isn't any threat and might even have something to do with the food and the warm shelter. When he first stepped in it finally clicked in his head that the hooman indeed is the one behind it all and it's as if he'd show that he's grateful to him and that he trusted him with all his heart.

Thanks this gentleman's patient to feed the cat, made it a house and gained its trust day by day. Finally, they become close friends.

You can literally see his health improve throughout the pictures and videos good job dude

He got sooo much warmer with enough nutrition to fill out his fat and his coat! I hate to see them out there when they are skinny because you know they can't make it much more. I like this mushy story.

The effort to win a cat's trust is always worth it. It's beautiful to see it happen! I liked this video a lot. It made me get up and kiss my cat. Edit because his coat change is amazing. It makes me wonder if he was super young still when you first saw him? Or did his coat get more luxurious because he was well fed? Both? He does look so young in the beginning. Either way, beautiful transformation. I think his coat becoming so full is a testament to how well he is cared for.
