Abandoned by the Captain of Yelp’s Worst-Rated Fishing Voyage | One Star Reviews

Ойын-сауық

Taji was born and raised in New York, but only recently became aware of a robust fishing community right on his doorstep.
As a landsman curious about life at sea, Taji took to Yelp to find one of the worst-rated fishing boats to experience the open water for himself. He stumbled across Captain Dave, whose reviews accuse him and his crew of “false advertising”, “filthy” conditions and worst of all… allegedly torturing sharks.
So off Taji went for a day voyage out at sea with the crew - only to be abandoned by Captain Dave himself right before the boat’s departure. A One Star Reviews first!
It is Taji’s duty to the people to address negative reviews with the business owner… but who was in charge of the ship?!

Its edited, note the first clip where he is waiting for answer but fixing his rod, then it cuts back to him and hes waiting for answer. It's funny the editing is what makes it good, but it's also kinda unfair for the business or organization getting rated

This is actually a strangely common scenario in my fishing charter experiences. I had an experience where the captain got drunk and just passed out like 10 miles from shore, luckily the kid knew how to drive the boat and which direction land was because it was foggy and I had no idea how to navigate or drive a boat. It’s always annoying when the employees don’t know what they’re doing yet suppose to help people who are new shooters or aren’t the best at easing new shooters into certain guns or calibers. I only shoot at one range here where in live or our PD range when for work

Three things. The first time I ever went fishing I was ten. We went from Sheepshead Bay. Same place. We caught nothing. The older guy who took me said heres what fishermen do - we bought fish at a market. My mother thought I was a hero. I was hooked for life. My son once asked me - Papa how come we arent catching anything? I told him: That's why they call it "fishing" and not "catching". By ending this piece the way he did - it became a very warm poignant mini study of (New Yorker) human behavior and basic truths. Great stuff.

I work on charter boats like this and let’s just say when you have almost 60 people on the boat at a time (most of which have no clue how to even hold a fishing pole) every single day it can be very frustrating. Those who know what backlash or a birds nest is can only imagine the pain the mates go through when you tell the customers to keep their thumbs on the reels and don’t. None the less I love my job so much and the kid is right. Everyday you meet new people from all over the world and get to learn a lot about other professions and just people in general. I have definitely worked with captains like Dave and mates like junkie.

@@cocainecowboy_ that's actually a really good point. looking at all those russian(?) guys like the fat dude who was a regular, it probably is a business that tries to cater more towards gruff dudes who just wanna go fishing but live in the city and have no way to do that. no doubt that the owner is a prick, but Andrew is probably just not looking to deal with beginners and tourists.

So I just checked and that's actually the kid from the fishing boat! 1. Check the two wrestling videos on his channel, he's in both of them and he looks exactly like the kid in the video. 2. The wrestling events he recorded took place in New York, just like the fishing boat! (In the wrestling video there is a sign in the background that says "Marlboro middle school", and that school is in New York).
