Abandoned Ames Essex, MD
Abandoned Ames Essex, MD. The most infamous of the abandoned Ames still standing, I show you guys what I can as its process of decay continues to worsen after being closed since 2002. Wanted to go inside but for my health and safety, chose not to because it was absolutely disgusting inside from mold. Hope you enjoy anyway.

I remember when they built that shopping center! We used to shop at this Ames all of the time!
I don't blame you for not going in as it is extremely dangerous with that mold and moss! It would be worse for me more than others being because I'm asthmatic, but I would if I had a respirator and was near MD, I just love abandoned places and exploring brings me happiness! Great video as always Wallie!
Holy Crap! Let's grab the respirator gear, some light panels, and "GET... IN THERE! LOL
Someone can sneeze on that place and it would probably collapse lol
How after 16 years that Ames
I know exactly where you are at. I’m from the Essex/ Middle River area. I didn’t know this was still standing. I moved away in 2000 and haven’t been up there in about 8 years. I used to shop at that Ames with my mom when I was a kid. You are off of Eastern Ave. Diamond Point Plaza Shopping Center. I also have been in that Sam’s Club when it was there. I believe there is a sewage treatment plant close to there if it didn’t move.
Thanks, Wallie! Been anxiously awaiting this awesome vid. Safe travels, my friend!
I remember going there as a kid in the 80s. Used to be a Chuckie Cheese in the same center. Across the main road is the poop plant. Just to be technical, this Ames is in Dundalk, MD. The old saying was “You can smell it in Essex but you’ll step in it in Dundalk”
Hey WallieB you're in my old hometown welcome to Baltimore plenty to explore just be careful I used to shop at that Ames it's on Eastern Avenue have fun thanks for bringing back some memories I used to shop at that Sam's too
Thanks for the video wallie! So cool to see such a rare gem.
I'm glad you were able to see this!
That's a really cool abandoned Ame's store. It sure is in bad shape. Good video. Thanks for filming.
I was born in Essex MD in July of 84. And when i was a kid. My grandmother used take me to Ames in Essex. But she passed away from cancer in 1995. When I was 10 years old.
I went in there a few months ago, probably May..its pretty cool, ABSOLUTELY LOOVVEEE it !!! but the smells are crazy, found some old paperwork from 98, and 99. super cool.
