My Dad bought a 1970 Jade Green one of these back in 1971. It looked like a brand new car then. It was perfect. I loved that car so much! He cut out little presidential seals that said official US Tax Payer on them and he stuck them on flexible magnets then put them on the doors. The car looked like an official Presidential Limousine. And got lots of stares from people as we drove by. It was hilarious! I will never forget that car. It was a real smooth riding car. It loved Gas stations but it was a lot of fun to ride around in thats for sure. Glad to see you bring Betty White back! She is a sweetheart for sure. Perhaps the best looking Cadillac ever made! In my opinion. Its timeless! In the Luxury car market. It just reaks class! This car would be worth a total frame off restoration and brought back to showroom new. It's rare being triple white and should be preserved.

Watched a video the other day where you were being interviewed. I believe one of the questions asked to you was, how do you feel now that you're getting all the attention with the success of the KZreads? You were also chatting about your upbringing with your Grandpa and Dad. You had mentioned that years ago you used to do all the shiny stuffs with cars. Your responses to the questions certainly define who you are Sir. Growing up on a large farm with the closest store being a 2 day camping trip away, having your Grandpa throw you the keys to the old Chevy hay hauler with the sbc in it with baling wire holding the PTO and several other non essential items wrapped up in it as well, your brother who drove it most of the time slamming it into gear for the second set of gears as your driving and your Grandpa not explaining to you how things operate so that you could figure it out on your own. Derek, you are America in it's truest form. You don't see something for what's it worth, you see it for what it is. Your knowledge is priceless and it came from many years of hard work. Your grandpa/family did you right and not only did you learn from them but, your passing all of it onto your boys and even us as fans of VGG. Now back to that main question. How has KZread affected you? You said, when you walk into O`Reily's auto parts people spot you and your not used to all the attention but, your response to that is what makes you who you are. I hope you never change who you are. Your personality, your demeanor, your work ethics, your humor all took many years to compile into one hell of a fella. It shows like a beaming light. Your a great dad, husband, family man, patriot and friend. If someone were to ask me, who is one of your favorite Americans today I would certainly rank you at the top. With all that's going on in our world today, YOU keep us grounded and focused on what it is we're all fighting for, FREEDOM! Thank you so much for being you and sharing that with us. Money could never afford what you offer for free. Btw, Happy belated birthday. Your so young, no offense but, I'm glad. We have a lot more time to enjoy you and your family. Maybe someday I'll have the pleasure to meet you in person, crack open a cold snack and maybe even do a Christmas bus ride or better yet, a tight lines day in the old swimming hole. Hope that day comes soon, would certain enjoy trying to keep these ribs from busting through the side skins. Best of all to you and your family Derek. Btw, tell Jess her 4th of July cake looked awesome. Your such a blessed man. Be safe on those race week excursions as well and grats on your drag license. As always, look forward to having you and the gang on the screen here at my home.

Super happy to see Motor trend invited you on their "Hoopty Challenge." Enjoy your shows where ever I can find them. Yesterday I did some sanding, bondo, self etch primer and paint on my parents 98 Expedition. Good old rig, just rusty in a few spots, needs fuel rails cleans, new sparkolaters and lightning wires... Then I can buff the paint and get it ready for another decade of getting the folks around, they are 80 and 82, so not looking for forever... I never was the paint and body guy, but a feller can do with some "Can Do" spirit and a couple of wobbly sodas. :)

What a beaut! A real Landyacht with that styling. Looked ahead of it's time with all the straight lines and sharp angles. With that cool of an interior, you could lend it out for weddings or as a limo.

I love these caddy episodes..my great grandma had one back in the day. She gave it to my dad and he used it as a work rig. Pulled the Cement it mixer and had the saw and mud board in the trunk. Then for one of my mom's friend's birthday party she painted it Pepto bismo pink and put "girls just wanna have fun on the back of the trunk. So the pink caddy was born and it was the town party car for years. They parked it at the farm to die. It sat in the trees for years. When was around 11 I stared missing with it while my dad would mow the farm. Got the ol girl running aging and when I got my license we brought her to town and me and ma stripped the paint and went to the local Walmart and got a gallon of pink paint and lots of black fabric. We redid the interior and it became my first car. The power stearing went out and I had to park point the football field because I couldn't turn it to back out of the school parking lot lol

The real star of this program is Derek’s left hand. That hand has more personality than most people. It has its own language, it’s own (hilarious) gestures and really carries the show. That hand should get an award somehow - not to mention look into getting an agent (it could have its own series). The various ways Derek wrenches it, wiggles the fingers, goes up and down, etc. when he makes a point about the vehicle that he’s working on are the highlights of the show and actually make me laugh out loud. I’ve actually started using some of his hand movements around the house, and my wife hates it - which makes me do it even more. Let’s give Derek’s left hand a hand - it’s hands down the hottest star on KZread right now.

My dad died in 2016. He was not only my father but also my best friend. He left me with his first new car, it's a 1968 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight convertible. It's all original red paint and pearl white interior with a white top. This car has been in the same place in the same garage since 1973ish. It once pulled a 24ft nomad travel trailer but the hitch is long gone. Over time 67,000 miles have been racked up. I've got other classic cars but this one is THE keeper. It needs a polish effort but I'm afraid to touch it. If I take the cover off and wash it the car looks parade ready. Still tho, I want Derek to do his polish work on dad's car because he has skills
