Despite her death, I am glad that she got to live her last months on earth being truly happy and grateful for everything. It really puts life into perspective, how we should never take things too seriously and enjoy being in the moment. It really warms my heart so much to see her happy that I almost forget that she’s no longer here with us physically but no matter what her energy will always be felt. @@lilyholicc she most definitely would've been there right along with aaliyah, I had already started to imagine them two together but both lives were cut short. I was in middle and it devastated me. I still have all the magazines with aaliyah, all my cds I can't play in my car because there is no cd player, posters. My dog recently tore my poster up with her in the green flowing dress, I cried so bad and was pissed as hell.

To know that Eric, her hilarious hairstylist passes with her on the plane is so bittersweet and heartbreaking. My heart goes out to not only her family but to all the others who lost a loved one on this plane. Glad that legends never die 🤍

It makes so sad that Eric Foreman also died alongside Aaliyah in the plane crash. He looked like such a wonderful person and none of them deserved the death they got. My heart aches watching these tapes but I’m happy they were surrounded by people they loved and trusted while it went down and I hope none of them suffered and that it was quick.

It's crazy becuz I was actually loocin at the scene where they were on the ride together, and knowin that they were the two(out of everyone wit her that day at the carnival) who we're on that plane. Cudnt help thincin about it, while they were up in the air. The only difference is they made it down off of that ride, and lived to laugh about it. While it was a different fait wen they were on that plane. They didn't live to tell about their wonderful time in the Bahamas. It was jus alot of eerie stuff goin on involving her, at that time in her life. It was hidden in plain sight. Life is so crazy. Rest in peace to both of them, for all eternity.

Just watching the dates tick by knowing she had less than a month to live. Still so missed. What a true beauty and talent. A beautiful soul.

After the events of Aliyah's tragic death and 9/11, It feels like the whole world has lost so much of their innocence that it assimilated itself to so much anger, hate and sadness from then on. Nevertheless, let's hope that at least some of us get inspired and motivation from Aaliyah's legacy and do whatever, no matter how trivial it may seem, to make the world a good place to live.

I love how back in the day where cell phones were rare going out seemed to be more fun. Just look at Aaliyah and co at the Fun House having fun without technology like cameras and stuff. Just genuine happiness. Miss those days ❤️

Yes!!! The summer of 2001 was super surreal. I was 13 and my cousin/best friend died on 8/22, Aaliyah died on 8/25 and then 9/11. I was so overwhelmed and my youth was snatched that summer. 💔

They recently released quite a bit of unseen footage from the Diary episode. I'm surprised the estate didn't add it on to this.

It makes me so sad and upset that her death was avoidable. She’s so missed and loved and she had so much more to give to the world. It’s heartbreaking to not just see the dates of this diary, but knowing that this was right before her death and 9/11, it was such a beautiful time before such horrible tragedy. LOVE you Aaliyah, you were truly an angel and a gift to this world. There will never be another you. I’m so happy a new generation can hear and see you!

9/11 actually overshadowed her death at that time... I will NEVER forget either but Aaliyah died end of August and 9/11 was early September and once that happened it took over the news and everything at that time and Aaliyah death kind of went under the radar or wasn't as broadcasted

What I loved most about Aaliyah was how she truly cared for her fans and worked so hard to give us fans the best quality. This is so sad. Her life was cut short in the prime of her career. She had such great relationships with the two Erics. R.I.P Also, there's a brief clip of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed a couple of weeks after Aaliyah's death. The last part of 2001 was so tragic.

The ending got me when Aaliyah said I thank God for his blessings every chance I get. She's with him now and I was only 2 years old when she passed but it's still so hard to believe, The hard work, dedication, passion she bled the entertainment business. A 22 year old worldwide sensation with so much love inside of her. Aaliyah you are deeply missed but everyone you touched certainly hold you near to their hearts!!

They were all so young and hard working and just living their dreams. This is still so very sad 😢

Several people previously have uploaded this episode to KZread thru the years, but this is the most complete version. I said this before, and I'll say it again: This episode is literally the countdown to Aaliyah's death which was just a few weeks after it was filmed. I know it must have been a dream to work with her and they really loved her and were having the time of their lives! I get so jealous thinking about it! Babygirl sure knew how to live, thank you for reminding us to be present and love on everything and everyone while we have today. Being from the D, she was a legend long before her untimely & tragic passing and is greatly missed...Aaliyah's energy is unmatched!!! ❤❤❤

My heart dropped every time she would read out the date, not knowing then how close her time was almost up. Seeing this episode of Diary after more than twenty years is nostalgic. As a fan, I find peace knowing her final days were filled with love and fun.

Gorgeus,talented,funny,charming Aaliyah was a sweet person,sad that she leave us so soon,we miss you 😢😢😢.

She would’ve been the biggest female act of all time by 2010 it’s no debate! Her style and her signature sounds were constantly changing the sound of music but these people stealing from her don’t like to admit it and give her credit but it’s clear as day that no one was touching Aaliyah not in swag not in fashion not in music not in videos not in movies she’s the greatest always will be!!.

they were lucky that they got the spotlight she actually deserved then and there was somebody to show them how the job is done. they would be nowhere if aaliyah was still alive.

She seemed much more happy and ambitious during this time in her can than all of the success she had in the 90’s. She knew her career was elevating in the 2000’s. She was breaking out of her shell.

she was so happy the last couple days of her life and that makes me happy knowing she was having the time of her life.

My high school twin I remember recording this live on my VCR when it originally aired in 2001. My swagg queen 🫶🏽
