This is AAA not NASCAR, totally different organization. This would become the USAC Stock Car series in 1955. AAA had a stock car class dating back to their origins in 1902.

This is AWESOME!!! It's such a shame we, Wisconsin, don't utilize the race track much anymore.
The guts it took to drive these cars is unbelievable. Sure they weren't going 200 MPH like they would in a couple decades like Richard Petty and Buddy Baker, but that barrell roll mustve been terrifying
This is really well preserved. THANK YOU

The Fabulous Hudson Hornet on turn 4: * 50's Rock music and a banjo plays in the background *
Nothing could touch those Hudsons in the curves
In 1953 it was the Oldsmobiles vs the Hudson Hornets. Both cars were quite a bit different, but overall performance was a near dead even match. The Olds out powered the straight 6 Hudson by quite a bit, but the low center of gravity and weight made the Hudson handle like a dream.
So neat to see so many different manufactures out racing Nash, Hudson, Packard, & Studebaker; Just name a few independents. Thanks or the timeless recording.
This is some of the coolest footage I've seen from the mile. I'm lucky to have seen many races live here since the early 90s.
"Hey Doc, Come look at this fellow on the radio, He looks just like you."
Wow I seen the thumbnail and didn't watch at first cuz I was looking for actual footage of hudson hornets and thought it was footage from cars 3 cuz how identical it looked

But we’re talking about the average speed of 67 mph on dirt. So that’s not a bad result, really. Hornet with 7X engine was able to reach about 120 mph easily.
