I've upgraded a Canon 5DmkII with cheaper Sigma/Tamron glass to an A9II with Sony lenses. What a difference! Marlon's videos was partly why I made the jump, and this was a good video to figure out the settings for focusing.
This A9ii body auto focus really is uncanny at capturing wildlife through obstacles! I’m amazed every time I take this body out with my telephoto. Incredible
Thank you, Marlon, I`ve just sold my a7111 and am waiting for the A911. This was an educational, informative, and entertaining review. Thank you so much.
Awesome video! I have the Sony a9 and I've been going through and setting my custom button settings for wildlife photography. More specifically for birding. I love that you used your dogs in your backyard for your test subject to learn the camera quicker. I've been doing the same thing. I've put some bird feeders up and bought a bird blind. I have rapidly improved my bird photography in the last couple of weeks. More importantly, I've been fine-tuning my Sony camera to fit my style. Hopefully, soon I'll be making my own camera videos. At least that is the goal.
Great advice and great passion, thank you.
Thanks Marlon, really helpful and informative!
Hi thanks for the video it was great! Do you use the locked on feature in the AF menu?
Thank you for your interesting video I have never used wide focus mode my way of thinking that it was an auto mode I see from your recommendation that there are times when this can help still giving a reliable method I will give it go if I get some great results I will come back here and let you know
Marlon, can you share what adapter was used with the Canon 200-400 lens to get the shot of the lion cub spoken about around 42:00?
Great video! Do you compress your raw files in camera? Tks
Thanks Marlon!
Beautiful shots. Had the A9 before and now the A1 and love them!
Hey can you show how to set these settings
Be nice is he mentioned shutter speeds and what iso is used auto iso etc
Sony A9 II does not work on bird's eye. However, this is a great video.
Are you using wide tracking or wide it is quite confusing.
what adapter did you use on the canon 200-400 lens? mc-11 or the metabones adapter?
Great information but very loud and unnecessary background music! I had to put volume in minimum and subtitles to not give up of this video. Please sony, a better editing in the next. And the Pantanal is one of the most incredible places in the world!
Very impressive photography and brilliant marketing. I was however dissapointed because you said "educate" I expected some "how-to camera setup etc" rather than just marketing the brilliance of Sony A9ii albeit great photography. I saw wonderful photos but little educate. I have the original A9 and would have loved to see your actual menu selections and button settings etc.

I have the A9 as well, you should watch this video from Mark Smith. He explains everything so well and easy to understand. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rG2cpdmog6yxqsY.html&ab_channel=MarkSmith

@@vehko1029 Mark does a much better job educating the photographer on how to set up the camera. This video was a waste of my time.

I can’t really tell. Does Marlon like the camera? LOL
I enjoyed this video very much. I am a fan of Marlon’s work as a wildlife guide at Wildeye and as a photographer. Thanks to his advice I bought the A9 and the A7RIV. Amazing bodies , exactly as he described, these cameras are the next level of photography. I’d like to see more details about the best settings for different situations and hope SONY can produce more affordable lenses like the 200-600 I also own. The incredible 400 f/2.8 and 600 f/4 , are so expensive that only an elite can afford them, they worth way more than Canon’s. Thanks Marlon , for a great job and your honest enthusiasm. @racmia
Nice to see some examples. But why on earth would you disturb the lions with the light pointing at them in the dark. Seems very arrogant and non ethical behaviour to do just for the pictures.
Guy doesn’t respond to anyone what’s the point in watching
shooting with telephoto lens is lazy and I really appreciate legend wildlife photographer David Yarrow. Need to go very close and shooting from close to ground rather than on car. I think you know David yarrow
