I can't begin to imagine the feeling that the pilots have of being the first to fly such a marvelous aircraft. The power and the control comes down to those few seconds down that runway. From flying your first Cessna to flying something like that it can never get old, and it never changes. When, I fly my Cessna I feel the same as if I was flying a jumbo like that we slip the surely bonds of earth and soar like eagles. That is what it means to be an airman. The looks on their faces speak volumes.

I’ve never felt so happy for a plane before!

We could easily : we have all the know how and industrial companies (see ramirage, rafale, caravelle, etc.). But you are correct airbus is a joint European project.

Congratulations Airbus. Increasing the cabin Air Pressure is definitely the future for the health of your airline passengers. With the A350's amazing carbon fibre fuselage you are now pressurized to 6,000 ft. But don't stop there. The real challenge now is to achieve an even more highly pressurized cabin. The aim is to get even closer to sea level air pressure, and 4,000 ft is now quite a realistic goal, that will make it clearly superior to the 787.

Airbus: Our new Extra Wide Body planes means more room for passengers so they won't be so cramped!! Airlines: Ooooo!! Now we can squeeze more seats in there & make more money!! Airbus & Boeing could build a plane that was so wide, you could park 4 full sized 18 wheeled trucks in there side by side, & the Airlines will just jam even more seats in and cramp up the passengers. No matter how wide the planes become, the airlines will just use the extra space for more seats, resulting in passengers becoming sardines yet again. (edited for bad grammEr)

Josh Guzek An Airline could make more money by raising each seat price $10-$20 than cramming 12 more seats into a plane. I would rather pay $30 more for a seat than be cramped. This is why I fly JetBlue and pay them the extra for the leg room seats.

I have traveled on 787 with Qatar airways and its terribly cramped. Strangely their a350 isn't and is great. A380 with Emirates is always my preference.

Have been watching this almost monthly ... what a milestone. Thanks to Airbus.

To me, Airbus represents a true-symbolic value: it is a Victory over ourselves. It has been the bridge that put us with our colleagues and friends almost beyond the horizon. It is a story of beauty, work-together between two continents, that is Africa-and-Europe. It has given us freedom. It liberated us. The 320-321, the work mules. Always ready-to-go. The 340 ... the Queen of the Skies (and my Eternal Love). The 330 ... the new Mule with great Stamina, like the best boxer or marathon runner. And the 380, so incredible that it would even dwarf Magallanes or Copernico. Now, we have the 350 ... the future is brilliant both for Airbus and our work (in fisheries-oceanographic research), weherever we go. Beyond high technology, problem solving, new materials ... there is a dream, hard to measure by scientific standards: Airbus is us. Love from Greenland.

I appreciate all the good work done by Airbus. Each new aircraft brings a new dimension to air travel. It not only gives better economics to the airlines but also passenger comfort, safety and connectivity. The 787 is also a technological marvel as well, as as the incoming 777X, a330-900 & 800 Neos. Kudos to Airbus for providing these excellent insight videos of their planes, salute!

Been on an airbus 320 about ten or more times and love it. Jet blue from Tampa to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🇵🇷.. Amen

I was making some small parts directly for Airbus, in the past, I remember it was a couple of small titanium bushes made on manual lathe, but I was making a lot of more small parts on CNC lathes for various aerospace customers, I think most of them was located in Bristol but some of them we shipped to France for example.

What a beautiful airplane. This and the 787 are both gorgeous.

I've seen A350 XWB, in Airex 2014 Istanbul. Amazing Aircraft.

All 1st test flights are done with parachutes, even the prototype Concorde was flown with the crew wearing them. It also had a special escape slide. It is on display at Duxford

Why are parachutes necessary? Because if the plane crashes, they will be able to unpressurize, and jump out and, while doing this, not get sucked into the engine.

Yes off course, every aircraft uses autopilot in flight, even Boeing. But when weather allows it and we're familiar with the airport we land visual, and take off is like always amazing. So the statement that Airbus flies itself is just totally bullshit

Awesome. Love that Boeing and Airbus are both bringing game. Wish them both well. Toured the Boeing factory, and hope to do the same at airbus some day. Little funny that everybody is wearing crash helmets, though. When do you suppose was the last time a modern airliner failed catastrophically in its first flight? The Comet? Not even. It's for the lawyers...
