Sweet Jeep! I have had my 93 Jeep YJ for 15 years and love how capable it is for us. (Snowboarding phase atm) I'm rolling with 35" stt pro's and just last year I put a 89 Jeep Comanche 4.0 engine in her. 60k miles. It's always a work in progress with upgrading everything and this build you have is a great inspiration to me.

Absolutely a lovely build guys!!! Not much else to say because it’s just so nice. I like his reasonings for driving his Jeep, for mountain biking etc.. I use my Jeep for a specific reason. I’m a long range marksman that shoots long range and extended long range several days a week and I love the study of ballistics. My rig has to be able to get me on the abandoned coal strip mines here in Wv. My rig has to be able to travel the side by side trails so my rig can’t be too big. My entire Jeep jk is built just for shooting long range. Probably a boring story but I wanted to share. Thank you for a great story!!!

Nice YJ!! My first vehicle was a 94' YJ 4cyl that I lifted with a trail master lift and put 33" tires on. I traded it when i needed a daily driver for college that could handle interstate speeds but its what lead me to buying the Gladiator I have now 25 years later. I had it fixed up well after breaking many parts including rebuilding the engine after hydrolocking it in a deep mud hole. I still see it occasionally but the lift is gone but the wheels and sliver stripe make it stick out from the others

My YJ- 350 v8, 4 speed manual rock crusher with twin sticks, 37's on 8 lug 60/HD44, modified body etc....was my "fun" year project....now if I could just get your suspension! peace. Edit: oops forgot ...8" lift, high-steer, dual batteries, LED's all over the place lol, removable mud flaps (to keep the cops off my tail), custom bumper w/ 12K winch, front hitch/receiver (very handy for pulling dead cars up the trailer and moving my boat around)… custom rear swing-out spare tire rack that also holds (2) 5 gallon jerry cans and (4) propane bottles for the stove...I keep all my camping/fishing gear in it year-round so when I 'feel the need' I can just throw some food and water in and go....love it. But I hope I never get a flat by myself because I can't lift the spare 37" tire by myself onto (or off) the rack anymore, I'm 66! Geese!

Adding some more detailed shots of the not only the suspension components but its up travel and down travel limits/numbers would be great at capturing its true off road capabilities. My guess is its more of a down travel build with those coil overs. Plus with the over sized 40s, you need to limit uptravel.. guess he had 37s on it and it just didn't look big enough and considered.. fuck it lets go 40s and limit some uptravel. Which could do him some good on the trail also.

Yes! Just get in your shop, turn on the rock and roll and get to work! lol. To some of us, doing all the fabrication is all the fun. Drive it for awhile, and then start a new project. The key is to get as many tools as you can along the way and always finish your project...if you don't, you'll end up having a yard full of unfinished projects and you'll feel like a dumbass. My first street rod project took 6 years...and I worked on it almost every day after work and most every weekend...6 years! The next one took 4 years, the next 1 year...it gives me something to do besides drinking and getting in trouble plus I learn a lot...good luck with your project!

I have had the stt pros since 2017 and have put roughly 20,000 miles on them. Great all around tire. Almost like a mud terrain/all terrain hybrid. Just make sure to rotate or they will cup and become noisy. Brand new they are very quiet tires.

Please elaborate more on the tire carrier. I have a YJ and want to do something like this for a 37” tire.

Now that is a beast and the owner sounds like a sound dude . If you don't mind me asking what is the total cost to make a YJ like his ? ALL mods included ( engine , suspension , axles , metal work ... the lot )

Im at ~18k for suspension, axles, and steering alone. Probably another ~15k for motor swap. And thats having a professional shop do all the work. Add another ~5k for miscellaneous parts, and you got a rig just like this.... The first question I was asked when dropping my '95 YJ off at the shop was, "how committed are you to this build?". It was a hard pill to swallow spending ~30-40k on an already capable rig, but at the end of day the question still remains, "how committed are you?"

Did I see dual shifters for the transfer case? What's going on in there?

Adam Northam yes, it’s an atlas transfer case. One shifter for the front and one for the rear.
