500 HP LS 1 TON Swapped Jeep on 42s! FULL Walk Around 💪

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This Jeep is full beast mode! Home built 1 ton axles, home built 500 horsepower 6.0 Chevy LS swap and a never ending list of extras! Andy has been building this Jeep for years and I think you would agree that the juice was worth the squeeze. After spending the last few trips with Kapps (Andy) I felt that it was time to finish our walk around video and share these details with you guys. I get questions about this YJ all the time so I could be happier to sit down with one of my oldest friends and get specific on this off-road masterpiece.

Perhaps get more closeups of how the builder packaged suspension, engine, trans/ transfer cases... etc, in your walk around vids so those who are looking for ideas can see how the builder accomplished their goals. Awesome footage to show the capabilities of the rig and the in depth discussion of all mods was spot on!

I second this. Also any feedback from the builder about the challenges overcome. The detail about how the frame was constructed on this jeep to provide clearance for the axle in the front, but drop down low enough in the middle to protect the drive train was interesting. Having some shots on jack stands with the tires off would be cool as well.

I will try to get some photos on my IG of the suspension and clearances as a quick run down some of the biggest challenges were the exhaust routing, coming up with a radiator fan comb that is small enough but adequate. And for sure font axle packaging between upper link mounts hydro bumps steering lines coilover mounts and still have full turning radius.

I do have to say Pitbull doesn't stand behind their products. Just warning potential buyers. All 4 of mine (41.5r17) had the beads fail after 3-4 runs and maybe 300 miles. That was such a great type of vid to add to your arsenal, nate! I really like the idea of folks talking about their builds, their goals, and how they got to where they are now, and what they'd do differently. This kind of first-hand information is invaluable to people like me who are only a fraction of the way into their builds. My biggest takeaway is that I pretty much need to stop where I'm at with my JKU and get a buggy for the more challenging stuff, so I don't ruin my JK, which is by no means a trailer queen or grocery getter. It gets used hard, but Im not down for the whole body damage/body shop routine. I need to drop the swiss army knife idea and just build another crawler/offroader... to add to the, already bursting quiver of sand rails, quads, side by sides and a track car. Its a sickness, yes, and I'm chest deep!

@@amkaperick you could keep your transfer case and run a crawl box in front of it but that'll add around 8" to your drivetrain and your low range options would be 2.72 to 1 and 7.4 to 1 which I thought was too low with a V8 and an auto. The other option is one of the crawl boxes to a 205. Atlas 4 speed all the way. My favorite part on my Jeep. Should hold up fine to the power. Great video like usual but how about some up close footage of the build. I like looking at other folks builds. Helps give me ideas.

Northwest Fab makes a underdrive that will get the job done. Titan black box will handle that horsepower no problem.

Amazing work and what a sound that makes!! You guys are covering all the best options with the different approaches you have. Great film as always Nat. What's the track you used at for the soundtrack for this video?

Talking about turning radius. So my 2001 Ford F350 Superduty Crewcab Long bed on air bags and 35's is 22' long and if I crank the wheel quick enough it only takes 5 lanes to do a U-Turn

Check into North West Fabs black box. I run one in my yj with a 383 fuel injected stroker with a sm465 trans and np 205 Tcase, and it is a beast with the 42s that I run.
