A team of students from Kazakhstan have developed an award-winning new app to help keep people safe when they’re walking home after dark. The app, known as “QamCare”, allows people to keep track of their loved ones and to make sure that they don’t go missing by keeping a record of their last known location. “QamCare” won the Senior Division of the Technovation Challenge World Pitch, which is a major annual competition in which girls from over 100 countries compete to solve a problem in their local communities through mobile technology.
