In about 2002 they came of the road I helped poodie & a couple more big boys to put sister Bobby’s piano back in her house, after it was done everyone left but me and she saw a little sparrow perched on top of her curtains. She asked if I would gently try and get it to fly out a window and I did she tried to give me a 50 dollar bill and I said no thank you she softly said then would you go in my garage and take a s many willie& family t shirts I wanted 3 big boxes I picked one out and said thank you. But she insisted I take at least three. Sweet, Sweet lady

I had the pleasure of visiting with her and Mickey, after a show at Senaca Casino, Two huge Native security guards, came up and told me to move back, She asked what i was drinking, And told the guards i was fine other than i could probably use another Jack and Coke... Winked at me and got on the bus.. Very Cool lady

"Aunt Bobbie"...I had the pleasure once to visit with her....such a memorable experiance. She was the Sweetest and loveliest Lady ever. I am sure Willie and family miss her terribly...as we all do. And what a talent. 🌹

Lots o’ folks talk about being authentic. Some folks never have to say a word about it: they just are.

Beautiful to hear what a lovely soul she was. I had a crush on her as a young man.

Saw her here in Austin many times in local clubs. One of the nicest, sweetest ladies. She would play anything requested. I recommend the book that Willie and Bobbie wrote together. Great post Otis thank you very much.

Nice story. She was always the mysterious quiet one to me. She was obviously talented. It’s good her story was finally told.

I may have put this in before, but when I was in college in Austin, I worked evenings at a high-rise apartment building, and Bobby would come in evenings to play at the restaurant at the top of the building. Always wearing an elegant evening gown. I stopped her once to chat, and that’s when I found out she was Willie’s sister. We often chatted after that, and she was always so sweet and soft-spoken.

Obviously never know her but she always impressed me as just solid as a rock as performer and as a person.

Reading a biography by Willie from 1988. He speaks about his childhood through his career up until late 80s and Bobbie certainly in the book!

She would come to the poker room at the Golden Nugget just to hang out with some of the big time Texas poker pros whenever they were doing shows in Las Vegas. She was so soft spoken and so unassuming. If you didn't know who she was you would never have suspected she was famous at all.

OTIS, out of the park again. Bobbi was a center of Willy `s band for years and respect he had for her in concerts you could see at the glances he would give her, the tie between them was love and respect.
