Family History and Family Ties:
Jesus came to set the captives free. This sermon explores the family history of Isaac before he takes a wife, Rebekah. It delves into Genesis 24v 67 when Isaac takes Rebekah into his mother’s house seeking comfort for the death of his mother. In marriage we do not really know the family history of our in-laws. When family history involves daddy having another family, family history may become an issue in our marriages. If the family history was not explained to you as a “Rebekah” and “Isaac” has mommy issues, it may result in his wife realising that what she signed up for, is not what she got. Many adults have mommy or daddy issues that come from family history and their spouses cannot get breakthrough because they didn’t know that their spouse wanted them to become the replacement for the mother or father in their life.
