Gideon - The Curse Breaker
In this sermon we learn about the judgment of God that has fallen on the Israelites for 7 years because of their continuous sin. Judges chapter 6 v 1
Abraham’s descendants, the Midianites, born to him by Keturah (Genesis chapter 25) oppress the Israelites, ravage their lands and take their crops.
God then raises up Gideon to destroy the idols of Baal and Asherah which belonged to his father Joash - Judges 6 v 25 to 27.
Gideon, the brave and mighty man, has been ordained by God to break the curses of the family tree that came about through setting up altars to false gods by his father.
God instructs us as the Gideon’s of this age to break the worship of false gods and their altars in our family lineage, so that the family can be set free in the name of Jesus Christ.
