A well-known Indian poet Sultana Begum Searching her parents and siblings since 1947
Punjabi Lehar is endeavoring to bridge a gap between the people of East and West Punjab, created by the partition of 1947. Most of the people have passed away with an unfulfilled ardent desire in their heart, to see their birth place and meet their childhood friends. Punjabi Lehar is attempting to fufil the desire of remaining partition era punjabis, who will be gone in the next five to seven years. Before watching this video I did not know that legendary writer Sultana Begum was bought up in my city Patiala and her parents lived here in Patiala. My respects to this Noble soul.

My mother family migrated from Patiala city in 1947. During which many of our family members lost the lives, few were half witnessed (saw injured behind them while running) and so many unsure whether alive or dead. Through this channel we might find some clues about them. I was born in 1953 in Pakistan. Heared so many painful things from my mother. Unfortunately couldn't made some real struggle to search them due to the such strong sheilds made between the two countries.

She compromised on her religion [Islam - which she does not follow] while her husband is an ardent Sikh [never compromised on Sikhism] think about the fraud that happens in East Punjab where Muslims are the only ones forced to accept "humanity" as religion]

What an extraordinarily unique story born out of the 1947 partition. Sultana Begum was born in a Muslim family, raised by a Hindu family, and married into a Sikh family. She is the daughter of Punjab and belongs to all religions. May she succeeds in finding her family in Pakistan.

Sultana sister is a great personality. When sister passed B.A. Me passed pharmacy from Government medical college Patiala same year. Sister talking about Seth Charan Dads who has three daughters and seventeen cinemas at that time. His kothi was under construction at that time 22 no. Phatak. Sister's life was tough but even then good. God bless her.

It is with great sadness to report that Dr Sultana Begum passed away in May 2022. Unfortunately her quest to locate the whereabouts of paternal family (Lahore) and her half brothers / sisters remained unfulfilled. RIP

Main Punjab Gujrat Pakistan say hoon.Bta nahi sakta dil aapki is dukh bhari dastaan sun kar kitna ranjeeda ho gaya hai. Maan G aap bohat zayada narm dil aur achi insan hain.
