Last Summer ('22) I was blessed to go fishing in Kenai with my father who has dementia and Alzheimer's. It turned out to be perfect timing as his health has taken a turn and he would no longer be able to physically do that trip again. Fishing in Alaska was never on my bucket list but something changed in me that trip. Not only will I cherish the memories made there with my father, but I loved it so much that I was able to convince 3 buddies of mine to book a week-long trip for the Summer of '24. Watching this video didn't just make me miss Alaska, it made my heart ache for it. I can't wait to go back.

Not long left to wait now my friend. My father passed shortly after our last fishing trip. He stands beside me in spirit every time I cast. Sending well wishes from England. Alaska is too a dream of mine. One day I'm sure of it.

As a physician, a fly fisher and a pilot I can say Dr. Bob has absolutely nailed it! I can think of nothing better than flying a Beaver out to a beautiful lake and throwing a streamer for whatever will bite.

Love the story. Sounds like most stories I've heard over my fifty, almost sixty years of living here and there's my own experience. I commercial fished in Bristol Bay and west Cook Inlet, fly rod on the many rivers in Kodiak while a fox tried to steal my first catch only to find out there was a brown bear in the bushes behind us,, trolling in the southwest waters of Annette Island, fighting off a mother moose on the Kenai peninsula on a canoe trip, confronted by several bears in Katmai (like six or seven} fly fishing in Yakutat while a bear was coming across the river towards us in high grass at Lost River. Yeah, this is good stuff, but its just another day in Alaska. Not to mention the black bear that was just on our two-story deck eating the leftover bird seeds. My cat didn't like it but all is good. Alaska is so much more than a short expose can cover, so I humbly ask forgiveness for seeming to make light of your experience, There are still a lot of "old timers" in Alaska that remember a different time. I encourage you to explore that avenue because I haven't come across anyone that has yet ( I could be wrong) produced a significant account of Alaskan history in the twentieth century. Most of us do not want further attention bringing in more "outsiders" but I am proud of our state and while I don't like what is happening even in our remote location, there are SO many stories that would enthrall readers but that generation is expiring. Go get these stories while you can, otherwise, they might be lost to time,

I spent a week up in the coopers landing/soldotna area in august for my dad's 70th year celebration, 2 days of sockeye for the freezers, but the best day we had, we were walk wading for Dolly's upstream of coopers landing. An absolute trip of a lifetime which included bringing home 30lbs of salmon for the freezer, 2, 7+lb rainbow trout, and what felt like 20 dolly's between the spawning sockeye's (and getting to see some absolute units of kings in gin clear water). I cannot recommend it enough.

Poem is from Robert Service. And like the poem, this video is special. It speaks to you in some kind of way that's difficult to explain. Well done. Looking forward to the next.

Fishing is top notch. Video production and quality are out of this world. These videos bring back the passion and excitement I used to have in fly fishing before I started college. These series of videos are giving me the urge to drop and out and explore, fish, and to just enjoy life as much as I possibly can. I’m at a loss for words. I’m here 100 subs before 100K. NO ONE is more deserving than you guys for this monumental milestone. Keep kicking ass and catching fish!
