A Week in the Life of a Sheep Farmer (SO MANY DIRTY JOBS!): Vlog 160
A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF A SHEEP FARMER.
It's the last week of summer ‘break’ here on the farm…
It’s sometimes hard to summarize what we do daily on the farm, because every day looks different. Everyday, plans change…weather changes, stuff breaks.
But I thought I’d take you along a typical week in my shoes here on our farm.
And how everything works in unison, even on the days when it feels like polar opposite.
Lambs need weighed, pens need cleaned, manure needs spread, cover crop needs planted.
And somehow…it all gets done.
What do you all do on your last full week of summer break?

Thank you!! This was highly educational for my early grades to watch!! They love watching the lambs and seeing how everything works together!! Thank you!!!
I must praise you and Mark on raising two really great kids! They help out and seem to have great attitudes about being part of the team. I am retired but watch many different farm KZread channels. It amazes me the amount of extra work it takes to raise livestock. I grew up right across the lake from you in the thumb. In 1977 I worked on a farm for sugar beet harvest, and it was the only job I ever had that I enjoyed the hard work because at the end of the day I could see the fruits of my labor! Keep on making the great video's!!!
You’re giving our Mike Rowe of “Dirty Jobs” (it’s a great show-look it up) a run for his money this week! I think I will cry as much as you when the kids go back to school! 😢 It has been so nice to see them this summer! Always a pleasure watching your VLOG’s thanks for sharing! God Bless!

One of my all time favourite shows (and my FAVOURITE guy... Mike Rowe). Thanks so much!
My favorite candy is Werther's Original caramels. I think that makes me a purist or a simpleton. LOL!!!!!!!!!!
I can see why you like that Bobcat so much, it must make life a little easier.

Its my favourite piece of equipment!
You are a diligently and productive owner/worker! So impressed
My favorite thing to do when I helped my father-in-law on his farm was taking the corn to the grain mill and have them grind it up with a large block of molasses and vitamins for his calves. I was usually hungry and wished I could eat the stuff cause it smelled so good
Continue to be amazed and impressed by the range and size and number of pieces of farm machinery you have (and I was brought up on a farm.) you are the only person I know who could match my father for work intensity and knowledge of stock, feed, growth rates etc.Roll on September. Time for the lambs again. BTW the current lambs in the barn are looking pretty good.

Hiya and greetings to you and your family. I've just started to watch your channel which I find entertaining and informative. While watching past segments I came across *49 which had me in a flood of tears. This episode, while sad, tells me that you made a wise choice to do what you do. It shows you really care for your animals, not only for monetary gain but there welfare as a living entity. For this I thank you. Take care and bless you. Baz in u/k

No matter what task you are doing, I love watching. Reminds me of a small flock I had on my Central Vermont ‘Gospel Hollow’ property we had.
Iam sitting here watching your old videos. I live in FL. And we have a storm going right now . Power is out so iam watching you. Love your life
Loved the video.. showing my daughters, so they see how hard work, and how cool, it would be if they became farmers. :)

CROSS THEM CHAINS. You’ve got your pin but if that pin fails you need your trailer chains crossed to catch the trailer
@SandiBrock
4 жыл бұрын
They are crossed... I leave them crossed when I finish with the trailer so it may not look like they were when I went to hook it back up. After a close call with the trailer a few years ago... the chains saved us so I don't take it lightly...

Love this view too!
I love your videos Sandi. Save for the occasional visit to a relative's farm during my youth, nothing could be further from my experience. You and your family work so hard - it must be satisfying yet frustrating and sometimes worrisome all at the same time. You seem to take it all in stride though. Plus I like the Canadian cultural education moments. At first I thought "Timbits" might be some sort of edible sheep supplement! Only after a Google search did I realize it was a Canadian brand name for what we call doughnut holes in the US. Thanks for another great video. Cheers! :-)

The sheep that took the other door at first looked like the one that ate the corn! As a corn farmer from Minnesota I am sure the confusion was due to the wonderful ingredients in the corn! I enjoyed your video.

Dear Sandi my neighbor Richard John Campbell Wallis and I were talking about your enterprise over drinks this evening at our first Friday of the month graziers get to gether . So upon arriving home I felt compelled on his recommendation to view your Chanel . I've only watched this one video but I can see how hard you work , we for the most part run merinos but I'm sure you will agree the worlds appetite for protein is on an increase . I look forward to viewing more as time dictates .

I'm new to your channel. CONGRATULATIONS in your sheep farm. It's great.
Holy crap a $5,000 part! Never thought about breakdowns of those big machines and of course they’re expensive. It was just a shock to this Californian. I love watching Kinsey hovering at your barn door, let me in. Had to laugh when you mentioned having engineers do repair work. My Partner worked for 50 years at auto dealerships and swore many, many times he’d like to shoot engineers for some of their designs and make them work at least a year servicing and fixing them.
I love your work .it very peaceful. Kazakh from China Xinjiang
How you get the sheep in a single line seems similar to watching Canadian geese fly in formation, watching goslings stay in formation behind Mama when walking
Omg watching them go in a straight line was so satisfying 😂
Very nice thank you cordially.
