A week in the life of a Ballerina - routines, daily thoughts, warm up, backstage, life style.. 🩰🍝✨

Dear viewers, here it is, my n°2 Vlog!
“A week in the life of a professional ballerina” !!
I am showing you a typical week in my life. Many times I get asked if being a professional dancer is a job (?) and here you have it. If you are curious to see how our schedule works this might give you a general idea on what we do every day.
Every week has different rehearsals and intensity of work, but overall we dance 6 or 5 days per week, from 10.30 until 18.30 and for performance days the times change, as we get a break before the show, which normally starts at 19h.
Like always I hope you enjoy the content!
Leave a comment if you wish and see you next time,
Giulia 🫶🏼

PLEASE TELL US! What is Martina putting on the top of her feet???? It’s hard to tell in the video. I struggle with my metatarsals feeling strained, too! (I love your new channel! Please put in more close ups of your feet dancing en pointe, longer shots of costumes, more dancing! We want to relish the ballet parts and take in all the details! (Love watching you warm up and stretch snd practice your steps!) Please show us how you prepare your shoes, why you hammer them (most girls don’t and I’m interested!) Also please tell us why you wear used shoes for shows and not brand new shoes? Thank you! ❤

Dear Paige, thank you for your thoughtful and interested message, it makes me so happy to see curiosity towards the ballet art form. I will start answering now… Martina uses Kinesio Tape. Wrapping the foot a bit tighter, sometimes helps releasing the pressure and keeps the little joints in place, this way the pain is less acute. Nonetheless I would say that seeing a physiotherapist and resting is always recommended when having pain. The body is sending you messages that needs to be addressed. About the Pointe Shoes 🩰 a new “preparation” video is coming out very soon! So keep tuned.. I will be showing how I prepare my shoes and some tricks that make the shoes more comfortable… Also, I always use already worn shoes for shows, most of us do, because when they are brand new they feel a bit “alien” to the feet.. used pointe shoes feel more like part of you.. if it makes sense:) I hope my answer was helpful! 🤍

Great! Spent 10yrs as a Dude in Ballet. Cool that your company spans classical & modern choreography. In dance grad school I focused on studying the Nijinsky/Diaghilev works/culture within the broader, changing … artistic, philosophical, scientific influences of the period. Swan Lake is perhaps the most marvelous ballet ever crafted (where the corps de are so beautifully essential, ethereal) … among of the many other magical great classical/romantic ballets.
