Just got back from PM, not $40 a day though, $40 per meal perhaps (for 3). At $120 for the tour that would be 3 days alone, the 2 massages, a day and a half, but pretty cheap and I also bought a tour from the gentleman in the video, although he was quite persistent in trying to give us the tour for free with a time-share presentation. You can get snorkel tours from the beach for $25 per person. Our beach front hotel was approx $75 per day. El Nicho breakfasts, food trips to Chedraui, El Sazon Jorocho and Las Koras fried fish and Marquisetas at the park all add up.

You definitely should. And you can practice your Spanish while also enjoying that beautiful water.

We just ate at underground yesterday feb 05 and two burgers w fries and pop was 550 pesos, excellent burger. Groceries are not much less here than Canada. Wine is costly and surprising veggies are too. No more cheap Mexico but the ocean is beautiful as are the people but bring lots of pesos. In portside beer is 50-90 pesos and margaritas 150-300. This is the Caribbean !! We love it😎

Been to Puerto Morelos several times. We stay on the Colonia side too. Been to all these places. The best food in Mexico! You need to try our other favorites Cockteleria del Puerto for their shrimp civeche and Cecila Bakes for her cinnamon rolls!

We featured Cockteleria el Sazon Jarocho at the 12 min mark and we tried to go to Cecelia’s twice but she was having work done both times so we missed out. What is your favorite item there?

@@TheFourChains Cockteleria del Puerto is a different place than Sazón Jarocho. It’s on the other side of the square a couple of blocks. Hard to find, but worth it! At Cecila’s the cinnamon rolls are the best in the world! Her carrot cake is also amazing.

Sorry, in my mind it was just called Cockteleria del Puerto, but I looked back at my pictures. It’s called Cockteleria el Picudo.

@The Four Chains absolutely! Still trying to decide on an area. Seems that Puerto Morelos is a low-key, centrally located option for access to Isla Mujeres, amusement parks & cenotes.

@@TheFourChains Sure, I've looked at rentals in villas la playa but I like the gated community of El Faro since they are all 2 bedroom houses with community pool.

We bought in Puntarena. It’s awesome.

Sadness I wish I would have know. About we love puerto Morelos tours. We booked through our resort and it was not a good experience 😢

Never book from the resort, check our other videos for that kind of advice

Great video. On what site did you get your accomodation? We spent 3weeks in an apartment in the Alborada complex , spent more than double what you paid per day - with no washing machine. Continue to enjoy your travels.

I use SunWing. But ONLY for airport transportation, never for an actual flight

El mariachi, the best tacos. Coctelería el sazón jarocho the best french fries ive eaten.

100%! The best Tacos! Also, have you tried the Tortas?

$1500 a month is pretty expensive. Been to Puerto Morelos stayed for 9 months, you could find cheaper places on the colonial side. Anyway I'm now in Turkey and here you can retired with less than $600 a month on the European side.

@@TheFourChains @TheFourChains I've never been to Istanbul. I visited and stayed in Antalya (seaside town) at the hotel Onkel Residence @€24 a night breakfast included. The other one was Bodrum both beautiful places and super safe and kind people we ate at some places and they didn't want us to pay. We left tips instead. I'm not a big fan of Fast food.

You had us at “dear”. The trip was in November. I think Sargassum will be an ever increasing issue. They do a good job by the port but some hotels are terrible like Ocean Coral and Turquesa. There is a color-coded chart that comes out every day with the levels in PM that is certainly worth searching out.

@@TheFourChains My wife has already shown me the chart it changes daily. We are in Puerto Morelos in early March and drift along the coast until bacalar. Mostly with distance to mass tourism. I hope we can enjoy the sea and not have to throw our travel plan overboard and go to these islands because there is less sargassum.

Tbh it was terrible in April. FYI we let our subscribers know in advance when we travel and I don’t want to jump the gun, but I believe Bacalar is in the works. Also if you watch our video on Ocean Coral and Turquesa we show the hotel and the port levels in April and port was much better

@@TheFourChains Sorry, I was looking for recent videos about Puerto Morelos this morning and found your channel. We have our hotel reservations ready and have a limited number of hotels we can still cancel. We are from Germany and are traveling to Mexico for the first time. Usually, we travel except to the United States of America rather east towards Asia, Mauritius, etc.. The rental car prices in the States are so outrageously expensive, we prefer to fly right over it.
