And don't forget Meg, when at Badminton, always keep your head and eyes up. You have a tendency to look down a lot during Dressage. Try not to. You'll get better marks my friend. Just do the test as if Lucinda is standing right there beside the judges car. Don't look down at the jumps either!! Keep looking for the next fence!! Don't be afraid. Jam will take care of you. I know she will. I have every confidence in you and her!! And I'm sure Lucinda does as well!! Always try to be 1% better each time out Meg, and you'll reach your goal. Love from an FEI trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

My brother’s family raced motorcycles and even said the same thing. “Look where you want to be. If you want to be be on the ground, then by all means, look down!” Trust Jam, as she trusts you! She wants to make you shine, let her!

@@Wraftor Well said!! Thank you for reiterating what I said! That back up means a lot. Even as coaches, we're still learning everyday as well. But to be recognized for a comment like this, even though I am a coach, validates to me that what I was saying was correct. So thank you!! Stay Safe and Many Blessings to you and your whole family. @@NoThankUBeQuiet I'm sorry, but I've been saying this since last year. And I'm saying it as an FEI Level Coach that works in Canada. Since you asked, here are my thoughts. Jam is ready, she looks marvelous. You and Hobbit have done so well bringing her along! However....she is only part of it. What I want for you is to stop "strangling" yourself with negative thoughts about your performance. You are totally capable and skillful enough to help Jam give her best! You have prepared her as best you can, so now, take care of yourself! Visualize competing confidently and calmly every night before you sleep, synchronize your hearts desire with Jam's heart, and you will both suceed! Trust and believe.....the magic will happen! Best wishes to you both!

THIS!!! So much this. I remember in one of your videos, maybe a week or so ago, how you did a voiceover of your xc course with Jammy, and you'd said something like, "If I can just get out of my own head and ride like I know how to ride, I won't be adding strides where they don't need to be." Again, that wasn't your actual quote, but it was similar. Ride the horse you have on THAT day, and prepare for THAT horse. You'll do fabulous. We all will be rooting for you! Love from The States! 🥰🥰🥰🐎🐎🐎🥰🥰🥰
The dressage test you did with Lucinda was so so good, I think a score of 26 was more than realistic! If Jammy moves like that at Badminton you can definitely get a sub 30. And I didn't think the first showjumping round was even that bad, of course the second one was better but if it had been as horrendous as you made it out she wouldn't have jumped clear. Give yourself a bit more credit, it's totally normal to be nervous! But you and Jambam can tackle anything together, you're a great team❤️
I'd give almost anything to get a few lessons from Lucinda! Even at the age of 70! You and Jam looked lovely in the dressage. Thank you for letting us hear Lucinda's instructions and comments. I was hoping you'd beable to get another lesson from her before your big event. In the jumping lesson I think she was right on: Jam is a horse not a pony, look at the next fence (!!!), Keep the rhythm in a STRONG canter and don't strangle her ( Jam). Trust Jam and let her have the reach she needs with her head. You and Jam are one!; make it so in the arenas! You can do it. !!! Cheering you two on all the way! Believe in yourself Meg! Nothing to fear! You're a natural!. Stay safe. 💙🐎😎
As a old 4* eventer I have to say lovely JUST LET HER GO!! Sorry all I could think in your jumping lesson is just "Get in there" She's so safe and level headed just TRUST HER stop holding her back. Hope all goes well 💗
“Broccoli is my favourite vegetable, not sponsored. Just a fact!” You crack me up Meg!!
Video ideas! - last jump - lorry packing, feed packing, bathing jambam, tack cleaning etc.. Good lack at badders ! You will mash it💪🏼💖
The organisation lover in me definitely needs a lorry packing video!
Once I heard "Throw your heart over the jump and your horse will follow". Jammy seems trustworthy, see if that works. Best of luck to the Elphick Team!
Happy to see any horse stuff you have time to film this week, but the priority has to be on making sure you take the time to get yourself and your fab little horse ready for Badminton, physically and mentally. If you need some time to yourself and away from social media this week I’m sure we’ll all understand!
Hi Meg, Just remember how lucky you are firstly to have qualified for Badminton and secondly you have Lucinda Fredricks coaching you with all her knowledge and experience riding with you. I wish you the very best of luck Meg just ride it like a winner and make us all so much prouder of you than we are already. Love to you all. Jill Birmingham U.K. XXXXX
Would love to see the night before prep things like packing the lorry cleaning tack etc xx Loved this ❤️

I use to take my old racer to these gallops as knew the old owners. Definitely put a smile on my face seeing them again & remembering the fun I had on them! I know it's easier said than done but please don't be so negative with yourself! You're an awesome rider & Jam is a superstar. Enjoy Badminton but don't let the atmosphere affect you, it's just another BE90. Positive mindset = positive results! You've got this! We're all behind you no matter what happens!
I really appreciate that you’re sharing your training with Lucinda. She is fantastic and I learn so much via your training. Thank you 🙏🏼
Lucinda has helped you so much! She pushes you out of your comfort zone and you really ride so much more confident! Always be positive with yourself, you are a good rider! I do understand the nerves, they are tough to battle!!! I love that you share the good and the bad with riding and training💕. Genius way to adjust your GoPro🤣
I love the bit on the gallops where you say a soothing 'steaaaaady' and Jams ears say 'Having! Too! Much! FUN!!!' hahahaha
You were starting to look hungry for it in the second jumping round. In my experience, that competitive feeling/hunger to win is the best thing to counteract nerves. Good luck at Badminton! I'm sure you and Jammy will do great! You look really well prepared.
I just love your sessions with Lucinda, she talks so much sense in so few words and the improvement is evident immediately. When you start to think backwards just think ‘want would Lucinda say’ and give Jammy a kick! And take Lucinda’s dressage score, if you were rubbish you know she would have told you!
I want to see what you do for YOURSELF leading up to Badminton, you do all these things for your horses, how do you get yourself in top condition? Lorry packing is always a delight.
Hope the cold goes away before badders. Will be watching both Tuesday and Wednesday with my mum and younger brother ❤ 😊

Lots of Vit D and Vit C is needed!
I'd love to see last jump schooling, last ride before, lorry packing, feeding routine, journey there/unpacking/settling in. Really anything you'd like to share with us!
What a difference with more impulsion, it helps Jam enormously and you are very capable of doing this, believe in yourself and Jam and get Hobbit to growl at you lol 🤣
I would love to see a lorry packing. Like what I pack/bring for Badminton (for you and Jammy). And you should be so proud of yourself and Jammy. The dressage test was beautiful and the showjumping was also great. I wish you all the best at Badminton.
That was a super lesson with Lucinda Fredrick’s. My she was spot on with all the movements she asked you to do and you executed them all beautifully, well done Meg beautiful riding. Jane.🐎🐴😎👍🧑🏻🦰
Ohh Meg! I feel the exact same with jumping, though the biggest I've ever done is 90 at the end of a grid so not nearly as good or as brave as you!! 😂 But the feeling of it being fast not reacting quick enough etc is so what I feel, and I know you said you're embarrassed to show the first video but from a viewers perspective it's so nice to see one the realities of horses, two the realities of good riders it isn't always perfect and then lastly the difference from the first to the second round!! I've been struggling with motivation and self belief with horses, so this has made just such a huge difference to my positivity to my cross country lesson tomorrow - so be proud of the improvement there is, be proud of the rider you are AND be proud of the honest content creator you are!! ☺️

Thanks Meg. Wishing you all the best at Badders. Would love to see you pack your lorry. Can I just say I love Lucinda, she is just fab. Well done on all your training. Jam looks incredible xx
Loved seeing you ride that dressage test. Thought wow that's a huge improvement so your new dressage trainer and the lucinda combo is a big win for you. Congrats. Get yourself some rescue remedy to take before the jumping. I totally get why you feel so nervous before jumping, I have a nemesis of oxers yet the horse doesn't. I do find looking into the distance and not focusing on the fence just the stride and getting over the other side helps my nerves and the way I ride to fence a lot better. You're a fantastic rider and that's all you must remember. You know what to do and jam is on your team x
What an absolute privilege to be shouted at by Lucinda Fredericks!!
Lory packing for Badminton. You having nerves of steel! Really like your management/scheduling in fitting up your horses for their events. Admire the honesty that you share in the good, the bad and if necessary, the ugly. I also like that you braid/plait your horse's tails as opposed to "shaving" them. Keep the tradition. I think I've said way enough for this vlog but....you asked. 😎💙💙💙💙
I’m sure this is a story of a lot of people on here. But My life was horses until around 21 where due to life circumstances I unfortunately had to give it all up. Your vlogs keep me sane and make me feel like I’m still involved in horse life, in some small way. I don’t usually comment but I watch every vlog, just wanted to say thank you and good luck, we are all rooting for you.
I wish I could give you my nerves. I get nervous about 5 minutes before I get on the horse and then once I'm on I'm fine until it's all over. After I'm a shivering bowl of jello. Doesn't matter though because it's all over lol. I think you and Jammy have got this! I'm so excited for you!
I think it would be interesting to video a bit of your own routine as an athlete, for example do you get any treatments or massages? Special stretches you do? Things you tell yourself to ease your nerves? I was so impressed with your first dressage lesson in the vlog! You’re an excellent rider
Want to see this last week-last jump and of course- Getting the lorry ready! Any Hobbit and Pete’s eat prep!! We will be cheering you on! Only positive mind set allowed. Kick on Meg!! Jam Bam couldn’t be more ready 🐎🫶🏻
You are your own worst enemy🤣 You are so brilliant and beautiful! Jam is incredible too. It's so easy to over think things especially if you have anxiety. I have it as well and it stops me from doing some things that I love. I wish you lots of fun and happiness, so be kind to yourself💕
Cheeky little " lens cap's on" nugget there Meg 😂 love it - always enlightening, always educational, and always fun - you rock the vlogging - you just need to transfer that confidence to Badders and you'll nail it - you've got this Meg👍🥇
Would love to see a lorry pack and any little unusual things you take if you could include them then that would be really helpful as I have my first event in June ❤️👍🏻 good luck meg x
jam is looking gorgeous!!! really love seeing your training, good luck on badminton!! 💪
As you get ready to go to badminton this week, let me just say to have fun. The best part of showing is just the memories you make there. Please don't get too tense on being perfect and just remember to have fun. You've put in so much work and you are more than ready to be there!!
Watched this after your amazing success at Baders and your self doubt made me chuckle knowing how brilliant you n Jam were 😍
I'd love to see both the foalie births if possible and also mabey some behind the ears hacking possibly with hobbit 🤭 also it would be really interesting if you did answering assumptions about yourself xx

@@NoThankUBeQuiet I know but when they are I'd like to see that xx
When show jumping I used to think of myself and my pony as a cruise missile, attacking the course with precision. Once you're four / three strides away from the next jump and you have 'locked on' start looking for the line to the next fence and already preparing for it as your in flight over the first fence. I don't know if that analogy is helpful but it always made me feel more confident thinking of myself as a missile with a mission before a big class or against fast horses in a jump off.
You got your second chance Meg, just get round safe that’s the most important thing. Best of luck 🤞🏻
How exciting to be getting ready for BADMINTON! I can't even imagine, I would be a mess. I really enjoy watching you grow, go with confidence cause You Got This 💯 ♡
So excited to watch!!
So so excited!!
Great video Meg. You just have to put it in your head, that you have to just ride for it. Trust Jam. Just ride for it Meg. You can do it Meg.
I don’t know if this suggestion will help, but I try not to think of it as a competition or test, but rather as an opportunity to show off my wonderful horse to the public. You’ve put so much good training into Jam and you have such a good relationship, go out into that dressage arena and think “look at my fantastic horse!”. Then with jumping, celebrate! Ride with joy and pride. This all sounds ridiculous but maybe it helps 😀. Good luck and have fun!
Love this Meg!! My inspiration 🥰❤
Jam is looking the absolute best she ever has, and you’re riding her the best you ever have. You two are a wonderful team. We believe in you, Jam believes in you, and now it’s time for you to believe in you
Soo excited for this one xx
Excellent test with Lucinda. Badminton is such a tough ask for horse and rider but so so worth it. If you do a test like this on the day you'll be smiling! Well done to you and jam xxx
Gutted I couldn't make it to badminton this year, too many midwife appointments to try move about🙃 Wish you and Jammy the best of luck! Remember that Jam is at this point because of you and all the hard work you've put into producing her. She's an incredible horse and you are an incredible rider🤍 (My boyfriend is looking forward to lots of Pete's Eats)
Don’t know how you do it all! And with a terrible cold! Absolutely love you sharing the lessons with us. They are always so amazing and there is always a tip or two to steal! I do love a lorry packing, what do you take for stabling at the show and stable set up when there (we love all your products and tips). Stud selection for all the phases, sj and xc course walks with your thoughts would be fabulous. What an exciting competition to look forward to on such a lovely generous mare!🍀
Your such an inspiration Meg! X
Love this video meg, thank you for filming it! 🥰
So excited
Loved watching your lesson with lucinda 🥰
Great video meg and good luck at badminton!!! 🥰🤩😍
Can't wait to watch!
What a brilliant vlog. Sending you all the very 'Bester' luck for Badders Meg. You and Jam will do yourselves proud of that we have not doubt at all. Believe in yourself, when you work as hard as you dreams do come true, we're backing you all the way! ❤🐎🙌🤞🍀 x.
Oh poor Meg, I totally get it. When you said about colors going past you coming fast flashing past you so quickly ❤❤❤
Its just nerves you will flow on the day, Jam knows what's happening she is completely connected to you now.. on the day its just about visualizing it in your head and then sticking to that, see your curves and lines.. Engine Line Balance, adrenaline and determination will do the rest... ive been watching Ellie, Lucinda's daughter and she has great impulsion and rhythm, watch her recent intermediate on shrimp that will give you a booster image .. Your preparation work is very very good you jumped clear and that's all that matters its always nerves last couple of weeks dont be so hard on yourself, as long as your intention and purpose is pure the big day will unfold perfectly xx
♥️ I love you!! Your my inspiration and I can’t wait for badminton
No KZread! Too many chefs in the kitchen! Rewatch your lesson with Lucinda! I say all this with admiration and respect.
You both look amazing and are ready to dominate Badminton Grassroots.
Absolutely loved this vlog it’s so great to see how you prepare for your eventing. ❤️
Your jump is so smooth! U make an amazing team! U fold perfectly and then land so well, I wish I could ride like that! I feel bad for my pony, when I land, I can't go forward so I don't crash onto her back, I do a little bit so isn't that bad. Anyways amazing riding!
go get them you have done all the prep now go and enjoy xxx
thank you so much for sharing your journey. your videos brighten my day!
After your last xc vlog it inspired me to get back into jumping thank you for inspiring me to and showing me that it’s ok and make me realise how fun it is! Good luck Meg!! X
I’m so early! The intro was so cute with the ponies in the back! Hope you get better soon Meg xx
Amazing video, you and Jam are going to ace Badminton xx

this thumbnail is so gorgeous i just love looking at it in my subscriptions tab ahaha what an exciting next few weeks!
Watching you training always motivates me SO much Meg! To just go out and work together with my ponies at getting the better best we can! All the best for Badders!
Great video! and great idea to check out some calming techniques, I'm a big fan of them. Can't wait to see your hard work pay off.
i’m sending you all the luck i can give for badminton! 🍀
Wonderful video. Love your stuff!
I’m so excited for the badminton vlog !!! Can you believe when I started watching you the pair of you weren’t jumping together yet and now you are going to badminton with Jam.
Amazing! Your dressage has improved so much from the last couple tests! We are all positive your going to come home with 1st place!
Very nice! I hope that darn cold has left you by now. You and Jam are an amazing team. They say practice makes permanent. In coaching my kids I always told them to try and only picture what they are after in their heads... especially just before the big day. If you focus on what you do wrong that's what you will usually get. Visualize it, feel it, do it. The packing of the snacks is really the important thing now!
Wishing you the best of luck at Badminton!

loved watching your badmin prep! I'd love to see what your feeding the lead up and what your taking in your lory
