I hate people who have pets and mistreat them. There are plenty of people who would love to take them in. My in-laws neighbour had the sweetest cat. She would always come up to every one of us whenever we came back to the house, and meow and rub up against us. She had the most loving temperament. The neighbour constantly left her outside and starving. Me and my in laws would always leave food out for her, poor thing was so skinny and looked ill. I was so sad to hear when she died. She deserved so much better and I wish we could have taken her in. Her name was Patch.

I opened KZread and this was the first video on my home page. I opened it and was instantly reminded of my cat who passed away at the beginning of this month. She was also black, talkative and she sounded and looked EXACTLY like the cat in this video. I miss her so much 😢💔

My black cat who died two years ago aged 19 was very friendly. He wasn't particularly talkative, but was exceedingly partial to having his the small of his back vigorously slapped. After a while he wouldn't be able to bear it any longer and would walk away, but usually returned within about 30 seconds for another dose.

Maybe it's specifically because of their friendliness that they are considered bad luck. They might be more likely to run up to a person, therefore possibly tripping them or causing them to swerve or have some other sort of accident by coming up at the wrong moment or getting in the way.

This reminded me of a black cat my neighbor had for like 20 years. His name was Pepper and he was an absolute sweetie. I'd sometimes find him chilling on my front steps waiting for one of us to come out of the house. I'd then sit down on the steps and he'd get on my lap and rub his face against mine to show how happy he was and how much he loved us.

There's a cat that comes to my yard asking for pets and she rolls over for belly rubs, but I'm extremely allergic so I can't touch her without risking hives and an asthma attack. I've taken video of my 2 year old son giving her belly rubs though. She's surprisingly good with toddlers.

Of all 3 cats i own, my Blacky is the most gentle, loving and quiet one; and the most loved one, as we found and rescued him from certain death when he was just 3-4 weeks old, in terrible condition. He's a big panther boy now.

He's adorable! Such a talker! 🐈‍⬛😸☮️

You know I’ve noticed that black cats are the friendliest cats. Well at least all the ones I’ve met are.

It's awesome but rare. Most cats around my neighborhood will stick with their territory and are just traveling if you do see them, not interested at all. If you see a cat who will approach you, remember to be careful. Don't headpat too quickly! It's too threatening of a gesture, keep it simple and slow. I prefer to lay down and let them act, as cat language goes, but it depends on the situation.

@@KnownAsKenji The worst thing to do is stare at them, as much as you would like to. I will stop, not approach further and turn my head away. Apparently this is a good move to make as to stare is threatening and to sort of ignore them puts them at a bit of ease. I'l also try a squint/slow blink just to let them I'm friendly, not having a tail I can lift into the air to show the same! I don't lay down, but I do squat down to make myself less threatening as you do. But if they are regulars in my garden, I will do the ignore routine for a few times before making any effort to interact with them.

I agree!!! I've had 3 black cats in my lifetime. Each was totally cute and sweet and affectionate. One is 14 now and he constantly climbs into my lap for pets and snuggles.

My brother has a black cat and he's also very talkative and friendly. We actually adopted him because he came right up to our house and stood up to our three German Sheppard husky mixes.

Warning! This is a graphic story! V V V V V When I was 10 years old I had a pure black cat (named Mickey). One evening we had been sitting out on the deck and we were going into the house (it was really dark outside and the lights were out inside so we couldn't see anything). I was the last one through the sliding door and I tried to close the door, it was heavy so I needed lots of momentum to close it... and it bounced back open... so I tried again, and it still wouldn't stay shut. My parents turned on the light inside.... and it turned out that Mickey had tried to run out the door and the sliding door hit him right across the neck. He never made a sound, but he flopped around on the deck like a fish out of water, with blood spraying all over the ground. My dad ended up getting a rock or something to wack over his head and put him out of his misery (he told me that he was probably already dead but it was just his muscles spasming). I just stood there completely frozen and traumatized that I just killed my cat and watched him die. It's unfortunately a very clear memory, even 25 years later. So, I'm assuming that black cats are seen as bad luck because they're like shadows that you can't see in the dark. They move silently and can cause all sorts of trouble without anyone seeing. (other cats can cause just as much trouble, but you can see them).
