A very hot, short session, on a club lake.

Спорт

Well after lockdown easing, this was my first short session. The day was very hot so a short evening session was the only option. I fished a local club lake and just wanted to catch a few fish. I was not targeting bigger fish, any would do, the size was not important!

Hi, just a short but very hot session on a deep pit. Plenty of fish to be caught but bigger fish don't feed as a rule in bright conditions. I like so many others just want to be beside the water with a rod the size of fish does not matter. Bill

Hello Bill, I am really sorry to hear about your fall, and the subsequent back injury, which I hope eases off soon. Apart from that, I do hope that you and your family are keeping well. It doesn't matter what the specimen hunters think, as the only thing you have to ask yourself is; 1: Am I having fun? And 2: Am I feeling relaxed? The rest doesn't really matter. Take good care, Bill, and tight lines.

Hi yes the wife needs less help from me as she is improving and my daughter is growing up, too fast! I always enjoy my fishing I don't even care if the fish are small or large, the pleasure is being beside the water surrounded by wildlife, and I was this time. Songthrush, blackbirds, chiffchafs and a constant song from reedwarbler, as you can hear. Shame about the road noise but it's rarely perfect! Take care Bill

Good to see you back "Shaggy!" I too just had to get out to fish somewhere. I float-fished a pond on Tues for Silvers using very light tackle, but all around me were Carp Anglers using Method Feeders. When they caught there was no attempt to play the Carp, they were just hauled straight in. God knows how much damage was caused to the Carp. For the first time ever in fishing I actually felt embarrassed! Luckily keep-nets are banned there so they couldn't cause even more damage.

What a nice easy, relaxed days fishing Bill. Lovely to hear and see nature all around you. Take it easy on the back, same happened to me some years ago on a steep river bank on the Calder. So easy to set it off again with the slightest thing, so you need to be extra careful. Always enjoy watching your videos and pass them on to my youngest son Gavin in Madrid and my mate Mike who is still stranded in Lagos in the Algarve. Keep on sharing and keeping safe and well mate, Chris.

Hi Bill, another great vlog, in this one we had several things in common, I too have lost my hat, I was using my Multitech 600, another piece of prime advice, it was bloody hot, I was on my local Lough and I had a mixed bag, i then used a feeder and finally did not care what I caught. I used the Multitech on a local fishery on Tuesday, using a 14 -16 elastic (Slik) had a good bag of Mirror, common and a ghosty upto around 8LB and several goodish bream around the 2lb mark, all on sweetcorn. the rigs were made by me, following your advice/vlog. Here's one oldie whose fishing you have improved. Hope you recover quickly and stay safe. regards Phil in County Leitrim

i was out yesterday very hot there was only 2 methods i was going to fish pole short 8 metres on a jigga float and about 25 metres on the pellet waggler i had a fantastic day on both methods the jigger is deadly was catching carp 6 to 10 inches under the surface i used a 3x8 jigger float set to 4ft it was absolutely deadly there is nothing better than fishing a jigger on a really hot day just throwing in about six 4mm pellets every 30 secs i used 6 and 8mm hard banded pellets on my jigger rig it worked a treat then after about 5hrs i switched to the pellet waggler 6gram pellet waggler and 8mm hard banded pellets on my rig fishing at about 20 23 metres the float was flying under nearly every chuck i had carp to 15LB on the pellet waggler just a great day to be had the jigger is just a fantastic way to catch fish shallow i can't recommend it enough,,great to be back on the bank I'm off fishing today at 4 late session till last light today i will be fishing the method feeder andy Findlay style,ALIEN

Unless a lake is netted and you can guarantee no further pike will make their way in there, culling pike is a bad idea. Remember, other pike are one of the pike's favourite meals. Nobbling a few leads to rapid reproduction of small hungry pike, which decimate the silver fish stocks.
