EASY FISHING Simple float fishing, on a holiday venue.

Спорт

I had a couple of days holiday on a beautiful secluded venue. I stayed in a waterside wooden lodge and just wanted some simple fishing in the small pond. I used a simple set up with a 13ft float rod and a pole rig, fishing off the rod tip. I caught most of my fish on sweetcorn but my buddy caught mostly on maggot! No onsite shop so we bought our bait with us and had a wonderful time catching a lot of silverfish and in the evening catching small carp. This venue was so secluded that i only heard two cars and enjoyed the peace and tranquility, the birdsong and the surroundings! We even sat and listened to a Corncrake calling with it's peculiar grating call! Magic!

    Thats a great looking venue, a bit of everything to go at. I always think holidays are the ideal time to experiment with baits or tactics especially if there isn't a nearby tackle shop to get maggots or pellets. It amazes me how a scaled up or down versions of tactics from other types of venue can be made to work on many venues that are associated with pellets or boilies for example. I've had success with scaled up bread punch tactics in the past for silvers and carp. The amount of things we can use as bait from supermarkets and pound type stores never ceases to shock me. Keep well and keep safe..

  • @easyfishing1936

    Hi well some of the best baits on commercial type fisheries can be corn and meat and I always have a bag of pellets with me. Bread punch can be deadly or fishing on the bomb with popped up bread or even dobbing! Try slicing polony on the hook that's a great soft bait or dare I say good old peperami, which seems resistant to small fish. Bill

    Easy Fishing for me it’s being able to feed much more accurately which often equates into more fish, i just can’t seem to get the accuracy with a catapult, I am still learning mind. I hooked a large common yesterday which I lost two feet from the net, you can’t win them all. Keep up the videos Bill , tight lines 🎣

    Great video Bill, that looks like a lovely spot. I wonder whether I can ask a couple of daft questions? Firstly, what is the benefit of using a pole float over a waggler float in that type of water? Secondly, I'm hoping to give sea fishing a first attempt next month. With limited car space I've looked at 4 section beachcasters. I haven't seen many, so do they have any big disadvantages compared with 2 or 3 sections? (Like weight?) If I start off simple by feathering for mackerel, is a beachcaster too big for this? (I'm really after some basic all-round gear as I won't get chance to use it more than a couple of times a year). Best wishes.

  • @easyfishing1936

    @easyfishing1936

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi well the main reason is sensitivity and control and simplicity. As for suitable sea fishing rods I would avoid a 4 piece rod and go for a three piece 13 ft rod or a carp rod if you are not casting a 5 oz lead. Personally I don't feather for mackerel very often preferring to catch them on float or spinning tactics when they can show their paces. Bill
