The problem with social media these days is not that people are stating their own opinions but people having this tribalism to discredit others opinions. There wouldnt be a complaint if people just said "well imo i liked 1.1 better" but that people are moreso saying "how dare you make that comparison". Using your example, if you said you liked a president over another, instead of someone else stating they liked the other person better and give examples they just say, "How dare you say that". Pokke made a comparison between two stories its as simple as that.

Here's the important thing though... he is. Any live service game's story can be compared to other live service games' stories. Period. They're all competing with each other for folks' limited leisure time, so comparison is important.

You made a criticism and the people criticize your criticism. Don't act like a victim that as if it's a big deal when it's not. If you can criticize something, this means you can handle it to. Saying you're not a story/lore person is irrevant cause you mentioned the story regardless. It's fine, but don't get mad when other people criticize your criticism. It's like, it's fine when you do the criticism but it's not when other people do it to you. Don't get me wrong, feel free to say anything. I think the main point was that the "You can't compare games and stories" kind of comments are dumb, which I think it is the case, not that people can't respond to what he said, in general. And I don't think having pushback on the story part of the tweet would be a big deal when it's the part that interest him the least. The "big deal" of the video if anything (which I think it's not, this is just content farming Tweeter lunatics as any CC does) is that people want censorship about other people's opinions about videogames of all things, and that they're not allowed to draw comparisons about the same topic in games within the same genre, that's peak Tweeter freak behaviour. In the second half of the video he says that people can disagree with him and it's crazy that people go to war about this stuff, which is to say that this shouldn't be a big deal to begin with, and that the people disagree with him on Tweeter itself is just whatever

pokke, i have been following you for too short of a time to comment on anything, but i have to say, you compared avengers: endgame to iron man 1, the criticism that they gave you of the comparison being weighted heavily towards HSR for no reason is valid, yes, you are not wrong, since HSR 2.2 was a climax patch and wuwa 1.1 is a world building patch, HSR will be better by default by the way climaxes are, but bringing HSR is drama bait and a bad one at that, you know things are heated between the two with fights happening with both communities because dumb people from both communities like fighting, and you know one of them is substantially smaller than the other, throwing gasoline in the fire is not a good look and not the right thing to do. i dare to say, and mr.pokke forgive me, but the comment was not in fact neutral.

I would personally have a minor qualm with comparing an early part of a new game's story to an already established (and in its own groove at this point) game. But it's really not a big deal. You can't reason with people that are down bad for a game. As a returning lvl 70 player(stopped when Fu Xuan and came back during Firefly) I wondered and wanted HSR to allow all the story battles to be auto battle. Along with giving the player canonical characters per story. That way I don't have to spend any brainpower or energy building characters I don't want to use(already had 13 max units and 7 of those were 5*) Even though these features are all over endgame grind content but not the story content. I got downvoted hard and told to stop playing the game and watch the KZread videos. Out of over 50 comments only 2 told me actual advice.

7.5 aint a bad score and I would’ve given like an 8. Points are fair and clearly subjective. I think the only part with too much yapping was when you were in the caves with Changli reading some scientific thesis paper. I’m not a puzzle fan either but the ones we got were not frustrating which is fine enough by me. I think the entire issue with your tweet was the HSR comparison, which you have to admit is drama baiting even if it’s a fair comparison. Either way Pokke that was like 1 guy out of like how many, 20 or more responses to your tweet? You are taking that guy way too seriously just like he took yours.

I liked the WuWa 1.1 story but let's be real: it wasn't THAT good. It was way better than 1.0 but that's a low bar to clear. Saying the writing quality is just a bit under where HSR is currently is really more of a compliment considering 1.0 was like "Tommy Wiseau's The Room" level of quality. Like, kudos to the writers for getting their act together so fast.

This opinion is stupid though no matter how we look at it. The burger analogy doesn't make sense because the burger came out complete as envisioned by the cook whether another burger was made 10 years ago or just new. A story requires build up and is built upon previous story and continues in that line. A more apt burger analogy would be comparing a fully done burger vs the first bun and patty without (incomplete burger).

You should be allowed to have your opinion without people trying to be toxic towards you. The community is stifling any criticism of the game and that is toxic positivity and just leads to an echochamber.

Ngl, the eng dub in this game is still mid compared to other gacha games. I found the story more engaging when using CN or JP dub. Theres still problems with optimizations especially when they used tencet anti cheat expert which is the reason why the game was performance issues. Also the exploratiom was okay but it wouldve been better if they made more various background musics for mt. firmament because theyre just remixing old background themes from huanglong. Vanguard studios please save wuwa.

Sure, HSR 2.2 > WuWa 1.0, but you could just as easily say WuWa 1.1 > HSR 2.3, if you're gonna cherry pick your comparisons.

I disagree. WuWa 1.1 and HSR 2.3 are equally bad. HSR 2.3 quest had big useless boring yaping and WuWa 1.1 also had big useless boring yaping. The only difference is HSR main quest before 2.3 was ok, so their Penacony story become Inazuma in Genshin 2.0 while WuWa's quest was the same big useless boring yaping from chapter 1.

I read story in all games I play. although, I should have skiped. if I knew beforehand how bad it'll be, I'd skiped without hesitation. P.S. the only good part was a story about Jue resurrecting Jinshi. I almost cried reading that. besides that it's boring usless yaping.

People easily put others down if your opinion doesn't align with theirs. I personally skipped most story in HSR except some parts from Xianzhou and Penacony, also skipped ALL the story except a bit from the Prologue from ZZZ (that shit was painful to watch), but I still enjoy the combat etc. WuWa story mostly got me because of the atmosphere and pretty ladies there, only skipped the side stories. So yeah, having opinions isn't a crime.
