A very bad Solar Power installation.

Consider the location of trees and the orientation of your Photovoltaic cells. Also take into account the weatherproofing and prevent water ingress to the ceiling and electrical system.

Shocking install.. no wonder they went bust! Newer panels will give more power.

I feel sorry for their customers that paid money and got nothing.

Interesting stuff. Hopefully the old panels have some useful life left, if only as a starter project for someone learning the ropes. I'd love to have a dabble just for the fun of it but wouldn't be allowed to by my Landlord. Won't let me change a light switch.

Thanks for your kind comment Stephen. It is sad to hear about your landlord not allowing you to change a light switch. I am experimenting with multiple sets of PV arrays and am about to test a new type of combiner box to automatically switch to the highest producing set (string) of PV panels. So far the small setup I have constructed has reduced my grid power consumption by nearly 50% but I still have to pay network supply charges. Oh well we will just have to see how it works out in the future. Cheers

With the shade would some panel optimizers help with output? I’m new to solar, thanks for the info

Yes individual micro inverters would increase the efficiency. The better and more economic solution is to move the panels to a shade free location.

For cost of repairs, you've got 6kWh/day. In my part of the world, west facing gives welcome boost during peak air conditioning load. Rooftop is a harsh environment--would only use steel conduit here.

@@timgerk3262 yes you are correct about the extra Kwh and stainless steel conduit would be even more suited to last the lifetime of the installation.
